Job Title: Butchery Blockman/Blockwoman
Location: Vierlanden Kwikspar, Durbanville, Western Cape
Position Type: Full-Time | Available Immediately

Job Description:
Vierlanden Kwikspar is looking for an experienced and skilled Blockman/Blockwoman to join our butchery team. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of meat preparation, including cutting, deboning and portioning with a strong focus on quality, hygiene, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare, cut, trim, debone, and portion all types of meat to a high standard
• Ensure proper storage and rotation of meat products to maintain freshness
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with food safety regulations
• Operate meat processing equipment safely and efficiently
• Monitor stock levels and assist with daily stock counts and stock rotation
• Assist in pricing, packing, and displaying products in the butchery department
• Provide excellent customer service when assisting customers with meat selection
• Follow recipes and production procedures for consistency and quality control
• Work independently and manage time efficiently, especially when working alone

Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a blockman/blockwoman
• Strong knowledge of meat cuts and preparation techniques
• Hardworking, reliable, and able to take initiative
• Must be able to work alone and as part of a team
• Willing and able to travel to Durbanville every day
• Must be available for weekend and shift work as scheduled
• Previous experience working in a SPAR butchery or similar retail environment will be a strong advantage
• Good communication skills and customer service orientation
• A strong focus on cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety

Remuneration:
Salary will be discussed during the interview and will be based on experience and skill level.
