Three suspects, including a Stellenbosch municipal deputy, were taken into custody by the police on Monday night in connection with the 2019 murder of former Stellenbosch deputy mayor Cameron Mcako

Grobbelaar said the individual has not yet appeared in court to enter a plea, and that the charges remained unknown.

"The municipality will only be in a position to release an official statement once this has happened," he said.

On the 15th August 2020, A group of young and old political activist gathered together in the streets of kayamandi Community in remembering the late , a community advocate and political activist.

On the day of the event we saw the beauty of unity, where different political parties joined their flags and sang one song in the spirit of the late Midas Wanana.

" The spirit of Midas Wanana will forever be with us" said Madiba a friend of the late Midas Wanana.
