*Chapter 1: The Bedroom Where It Started*
In 2020, in a bedroom with a struggling PC, Bhiza Records was born. No glass booth. No mixing desk. Just Benety Nduduzo Khumalo — Kaybhiza — a keyboardist who got tired of playing other people’s songs and decided to learn how to build his own.
The name wasn’t random. “Bhiza” came from his own name: Benety Nduduzo Khumalo. He’d already been calling himself Kaybhiza, and the label had to carry that same energy. In Ndebele, _Bhiza_ means horse. And horses are powerful, unstoppable, expensive. That became the prophecy: _We move like a horse. We run like a horse. We don’t stop._
The first weapon was FL Studio running on a low RAM PC that froze more than it played. Money for equipment didn’t exist. But the knowledge had to. So he taught himself — beat by beat, crash by crash.
*Chapter 2: Hard Target Riddim & The Woman Who Believed First*
The first beat was Zimdancehall. _Hard Target Riddim_. That’s where Kaybhiza planted his flag. He was inspired by Zimdancehall, Reggae, Disco, and Gospel — genres of survival, praise, and protest.
His first artists were Queen P*e and Jah Blaster. Queen P*e wasn’t just his first artist. She was his wife. She didn’t know music at first, but she knew him. She supported him when the PC lagged and the money wasn’t there. She gave him hope that things would come clear soon. In 2023, she passed away. The studio lost its first believer, and Kaybhiza lost his partner. But quitting isn’t in the Bhiza code. “Only death can stop me,” he says. So he kept running.
*Chapter 3: United Riddim — The Sound That Made Them Listen*
Kaybhiza became known for Zimdancehall instrumentals. Then came _United Riddim_. Artists loved it. They started asking, “Who made this?” That riddim put Bhiza Records on the map. From there, the roster grew.
He built artists from scratch: Smile, Queen P*e, Mtx Nation, Queen Percy, Mahlabinyongo, Methuli Healing, Jah Blaster — the list is endless. He didn’t wait for stars. He made them.
*Chapter 4: More Than a Label*
Bhiza Records outgrew “just beats” fast. Today it’s a full machine: mixing and mastering, custom background soundtracks, jingles, keyboardist hiring, vocal coaching, beat making services. All genres. No limits.
The vision is bigger than Matabeleland, bigger than Zimbabwe. _“Bhiza Records will be known for teaching and making music throughout the world. Our vision is to spread the knowledge about music across the world.”_ Not just hits. Legacy. Education. Power.
*Chapter 5: Why The Horse Wins*
Starting in 2020 with no gear taught Kaybhiza one thing: you don’t need permission to be unstoppable. Money was a problem. Equipment was a problem. Grief was a problem. He ran through all of it.
Bhiza Records is a label you can trust because it was built on real stakes — love, loss, low RAM, and a refusal to quit. Like a horse, it doesn’t look back. It just runs. And horses, as he says, are expensive.
From a bedroom in 2020 to a global vision, Kaybhiza turned his name into a movement. The first riddim was Hard Target. The goal is harder: teach the world music.
