🩸 PERIOD DISCHARGE
Check the colours of your discharge ‼️
Period discharge Is the vaginal secretions that occur before, during, or after menstruation. It’s a mix of cervical mucus, vaginal fluids, and sometimes blood. Its appearance changes depending on hormonal shifts throughout the cycle.
🔄 How It Changes Through the Cycle
☑️Before menstruation discharge is often thick, white, or creamy. This is due to rising progesterone levels in the luteal phase. It may feel sticky or pasty and is usually odorless or mildly musky.
☑️During menstruation discharge mixes with blood. You may notice reddish, pink, or brown fluid. Brown discharge typically represents older blood being expelled slowly. This is normal unless accompanied by foul odor or discomfort.
☑️After menstruation the discharge may appear light brown or clear. This is the uterus finishing its cleansing process. Some women experience a brief dry phase before normal mucus resumes.
