🏠❤️ MEMEZA AND CPF JOIN FORCES TO RESTORE DIGNITY AND HOPE IN TEMBISA

A powerful community initiative has brought hope, dignity and a renewed sense of family to Mr Linda France Mofokeng in Sethokga Section, Tembisa.

MEMEZA and the CPF, together with patrollers, neighbours, community partners and supporters, came together to clean and restore his home after he returned from a lengthy hospital stay to find his house severely damaged and neglected.

From cleaning and painting to plastering damaged walls, removing rubble and assisting with essential needs, the team showed that community safety is not only about crime prevention — it is also about changing lives. ❤️🤝

The reported damage includes tombstones that are broken, damaged or appearing unstable.

🚨 EMMANUEL MBENSE MURDER CASE: BAIL APPLICATION CONTINUES TODAY

BRAKPAN — The bail application involving suspended EMPD Deputy Chief Brigadier Julius Mkhwanazi and his co-accused in the murder of businessman Emmanuel Mbense continues today at the Brakpan Magistrate’s Court.

The State is opposing bail. The accused face charges including murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances and defeating the ends of justice.

The case relates to the alleged abduction and murder of Mbense in April 2022, after which his body was allegedly dumped at a dam near Nigel.

The matter has attracted renewed national attention following evidence presented before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.

The allegations against the accused have not been proven in court, and they remain presumed innocent until proven guilty.

🚨 BREAKING: MALMESBURY TEEN ARRESTED IN INTERNATIONAL CHILD EXPLOITATION INVESTIGATION

MALMESBURY, WESTERN CAPE — A 16-year-old teenager has been arrested in Malmesbury following an investigation that allegedly linked the suspect to international online networks involved in the exploitation of children.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the teenager was arrested on Monday, 17 August 2026, following intelligence received from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the US Embassy and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).

SAPS said the intelligence allegedly linked the suspect to online networks referred to as “764”, which law enforcement associates with the exploitation, coercion and blackmail of minors.

The SAPS National Serial and Electronic Crime Investigations (SECI) Team traced the teenager to an address in Malmesbury, where he was arrested.

Police said a preliminary examination of electronic devices seized during the operation allegedly uncovered child sexual abuse material, including explicit images and videos. Investigators also reportedly found disturbing material involving animal abuse.

The seized devices will undergo detailed forensic analysis as investigators work to establish the full extent of the alleged offences.

SAPS said several child victims have been identified so far.

The operation involved several SAPS specialised units, with assistance from the FBI and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

The teenager is expected to appear in the Malmesbury Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 18 August 2026.

Investigators are also probing possible additional allegations involving fraud and money laundering.

The allegations remain subject to investigation and have not been tested in court.

🚨 BREAKING: FIROZ KHAN TO TESTIFY BEFORE MADLANGA COMMISSION

PRETORIA — Major-General Feroz Khan is expected to appear before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry on 1 and 2 September 2026.

Khan, who previously served in a senior position within SAPS Crime Intelligence, is expected to face questions about allegations raised during the Commission’s hearings, including claims involving criminal networks, tenders and alleged political interference.

His anticipated appearance comes amid heightened scrutiny after he was shot in an apparent assassination attempt in Houghton, Johannesburg, in June.

Khan has not yet given evidence before the Commission and will have an opportunity to respond to allegations and evidence presented during the hearings.

His testimony is expected to be closely watched as the Commission continues examining allegations surrounding South Africa’s criminal justice system.

🚨 INDONESIA EARTHQUAKE DEATH TOLL RISES AS RESCUE OPERATIONS CONTINUE

INDONESIA — The death toll from the powerful earthquake that struck East Nusa Tenggara province has risen to 68, with more than 200 people injured.

The magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck off Flores Island on Saturday, 15 August, causing widespread damage, landslides and building collapses.

More than 19,000 people have been displaced, while thousands of homes have been damaged.

Rescue teams continue searching for survivors as repeated aftershocks hamper operations. Authorities have recorded nearly 1,600 aftershocks, including another tremor estimated at magnitude 5.7 to 5.9 in the Flores area on Monday.

A 14-day state of emergency has been declared in East Nusa Tenggara, with relief supplies and medical teams being deployed to affected communities.

Search-and-rescue operations remain ongoing as authorities assess the full extent of the devastation.
