***Her Majesty’s Talk and High Tea ***
Introducing our next speaker and a first on the Her Majesty’s panel, Dub Gorvament from Impumelelo kitchen soup & orphanage Somalia park community center
Dub Government is a Rasta man to the bone dedicating his life to being a community builder, humanitarian, and grassroots leader whose life’s work is centred around serving the most vulnerable members of society as the Nyabinghi creed stands "Let the hungry be fed, the naked clothed, The sick nourished; the aged protected, and the infants cared for," he is living with the creed by the creed through Jah works. As the founder and director of Impumelelo soup kitchen and orphanage, Dub Government has become a beacon of hope in his community of Somalia park, providing daily nourishment, shelter, care, and emotional support to children and families facing hardship.
With a deep connection to Rastafari understanding that Jah works is to help those less fortunate, Dub Government has spent years building trust within underserved communities, often using his own resources and networks to ensure no one is left behind. His soup kitchen not only offers meals but also serves as a safe space for dialogue, dignity, and human connection. At his orphanage, he has created a space where children have shelter and food to eat not only that but they are also educated through the "Impumelelo library" where many supporters have donated educational material that will help enrich the minds of the young ones, creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive, access education, and grow up knowing they are loved and supported.
Last year Dub Government hosted a art Indaba for the kids at the soup kitchen where he invited other crafters to educate them on the importance of art and culture as well as throwing a birthday party for the Impumelelo kiddies.
Dub Government believes in the power of love and continues to advocate for systemic change while leading by example on the ground. His story is one of resilience, compassion, and leadership, and he brings valuable insight to any conversation about community development, food security, child welfare, and the role of activism in transforming lives.
On the 10th of August he joins this panel not just as a speaker, but as a voice for the voiceless—and as a reminder that everyday heroes are the heart of real change.
Do join us as we have this very touching conversation with Dub Government at the Her Majesty’s Talk and High Tea
