The 10th Tembisa Theatre Week marks a profound milestone in South Africa’s cultural landscape, a decade of courageous storytelling, community building, and artistic excellence rooted in the township. This year’s celebration is not only a reflection on the journey travelled, but a powerful affirmation of the future of the arts.
At the heart of this historic edition, we honour Mpho Molepo, an iconic and legendary theatre practitioner and administrator whose unwavering commitment has shaped institutions, nurtured generations of artists, and strengthened the cultural ecosystem of our country. His work stands as a testament to leadership, discipline, and an unshakeable belief in the transformative power of theatre.
As we gather from 21 February to 1 March, the festival becomes a living archive of legacy, vision, and possibility a space where the past, present, and future of theatre meet.

Woz’bloma nathi.
We celebrate our own.
