Industrial fire breaks out at Elwin Manufacturers, Great North Road, Brentwood Park.

An industrial fire started this afternoon at approximately 16h50 at Elwin Manufacturers, a facility that manufactures new and refurbishes oil transformers.

City of Ekurhuleni fire fighters responded immediately to the scene after a distress call was received.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown and investigations will begin once the fire is extinguished and the site is declared safe.

The security was the only person on the premises at the time the fire started and no injuries has been reported.

Great North Road has been closed temporarily to allow emergency crews access and to ensure public safety. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
The scene remains active and emergency teams are still on site.

A case of a missing person has been registered at Rabie Ridge SAPS following the disappearance of the 66 year old male Charles Pooe from Daisy Street, Ebony Park EXT 4, Midrand.

He was last seen at Daisy Street, Ebony Park EXT 4, Midrand. He was last seen wearing: Red jacket, brown trousers and white and green sneakers.
