June 16. The day they rose. The day they said, “Enough.”
In 1976, it was the youth of Soweto who sparked a national reckoning. Armed with nothing but their voices, their courage, and the vision of a better future, they defied a system built to silence them. Today, that spirit remains the blueprint for change.
At Dikgomo Tseo Media, we don't just tell stories - we channel legacies. This Youth Day, we honour the students who marched, bled, and refused to back down. We also celebrate the youth of today - those creating, questioning, challenging, and rebuilding. Whether through art, activism, tech, or community-building, young people are still shifting culture and pushing boundaries.
Our work is rooted in amplifying that energy. We exist to document it, shape it, and give it a platform. Because the fire of 1976 didn’t burn out - it evolved.
To the youth: your voice is not just important. It’s historic.
