Official Statement from Ngwathe Local Municipality Regarding a Recent Accident Involving the Executive Mayor's Designated Vehicle.

The Ngwathe Local Municipality would like to confirm that an official vehicle designated for use by the Executive Mayor, Cllr. Victoria De-Beer-Mthombeni, was involved in a fatal accident on the N1 highway on Sunday, May 21, 2023.The municipality, through the Office of the Executive Mayor, is in constant contact with all the affected parties, particularly the grieving family of the deceased.

The matter is currently with the law enforcement authorities for further investigation."The unfortunate incident where one of our beloved community members sadly lost her life is indeed regrettable. We are with the bereaved family during this period.

We commit to working closely with the family throughout this tragic period and beyond. We fully cooperate with the relevant law enforcement agencies to assist with the investigation. The matter is in the capable hands of law enforcement and is currently under investigation.

We are also offering support to the driver assigned to transport the mayor. The driver is traumatized by the unfortunate incident.We appeal to members of the public to allow the authorities space to investigate the matter to its conclusion.

We further call on public members to desist from making ill-informed and reckless comments regarding this unfortunate incident. But all political party manifestos are saying they are fighting for NON-RACIAL communities.

Government maintains there have been no deaths of patients that can be linked to blackouts. But now a 3-year-old has died as a direct result of a power outage. She was on oxygen at home, but the inverter failed and the family was unable to keep the oxygen machine on. Heidi Giokos is on this story.

DEPUTY PRESIDENT MASHATILE CONDUCTS A TWO-DAY VISIT TO OR TAMBO DISTRICT AND BUFFALO CITY METRO IN THE EASTERN CAPE PROVINCE

Deputy President Paul Mashatile will on Friday, 26 and Saturday, 27 May 2023, undertake a two-day oversight visit to the Eastern Cape Province in both the OR Tambo District and Buffalo City Metro municipalities, as part of efforts to improve the functioning of municipalities and providing solutions to challenges facing communities through the District Development Model (DDM).

As part of his delegated functions, Deputy President Mashatile is assisting the President in the roll-out of the District Development Model, a flagship mechanism adopted by government to drive effective coordination of different spheres of government for impactful service delivery.

On the 26th of May, the Deputy President and delegation will be in the O.R. Tambo District Municipality, at Lusikisiki in Ingquza Hill Local Municipality. He will provide feedback to the communities on the implementation of the District Development Model since its launch in 2019, focusing on progress achieved to improve service delivery, reduce crime, and fight gender-based violence in the area.

The Deputy President will also engage with the Local Business Forum, with the aim to strengthen partnership between government and the private sector to further unlock economic opportunities in areas such as eco-tourism, the oceans economy, agriculture, oil and gas development, and mining, among others.

On the 27th of May, the Deputy President and delegation will proceed to the Buffalo City Metropolitan municipality to engage with business representatives, small-scale farmers and farm workers.

The engagement with the farming community will take place at the Ncera Macadamia Farming Initiative, which produces and sells macadamia nuts on the open market. The visit to the Macadamia project by Deputy President Mashatile w

LEARN TO BE YOUR OWN PERSONAL DOCTOR

1. TYPHOID FEVER.

Get unripe pawpaw, unripe
pineapple, ginger, lime orange and Lipton tea. Cut into pieces, boil with fermented corn water for one hour. Take one glass cup 3 times daily for one week. The ailment will disappear.

2. STOMACH ULCER.

Get 7-8 unripe plantain, peel them, cut them to pieces and pound. Put everything inside a plastic container, fill it with one gallon of water. Allow it to ferment for three days. Take one cup 2 times a day for one week. The ailment will disappear.

3. ASTHMA.

Get some seeds of mango, cut it into pieces and keep under the sun to dry. Grind to powder. Put one spoon of
the powder into a glass cup of water, stir it and drink. Once in a day for 3-4 weeks .

4. RHEUMATISM / ARTHRITIS

Get 5 seeds of English pear (Avocado pear), cut into pieces and dry under the sun, grind to
powder. Mix with a glass of honey to form paste. Take one spoon, 3 times daily until the 6th day.

5 .CHOLERA

Take three teaspoons of salt and one teaspoon of sugar, add half spoon of dry gin. Drink all as a single dose. The cholera will stop immediately.

6. HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE.

Get 4 seeds of English pear (Avocado pear), cut into pieces, dry under the sun and grind into
powder. Put a teaspoon of this powder into your prepared palp and drink. Once daily for 2 weeks.

7. PNEUMONIA.

Get a handful of garlic, grind to extract the juice. Drink a spoon and use the juice to rub the chest and back.
That will close the chapter.

8. SEVERE COUGH

Get about 10 pieces of bitter cola, grind to powder, add half cup of original honey. Take 2 spoons thrice
daily for 4 days.

9. *TUBERCULOSIS*: Get 20-23 pieces of bitter cola, ginger of equal quantity and 3 bulbs
