The wait is finally over for residents of Musiphani, Nkambako, Joppi, Nyakelani, and Xihoko in Bolobedu South and Nwamitwa. After 15 long days without electricity, the lights are back on!

The Mamitwa–Xihoko 22kV line has been successfully energised, and the municipality is now focusing on the Mamitwa–Moruji 22kV line, planting the remaining poles to complete the restoration process.

The community's tireless efforts to help Eskom have paid off, and residents can now enjoy the comfort of electricity in their homes. The municipality thanks everyone for their patience and support during this challenging time.

It's a moment of celebration for the residents, who have shown remarkable resilience and unity in the face of adversity. We're glad to report that the lights are back on, and life can return to normal.

In a show of unity, thousands of community members from Nwamitwa and surrounding villages have come together to help Eskom fix the electricity issue.

The community has been without power due to vandalism, and Eskom has been working to restore it. However, their trucks were struggling to pass through the bushy areas.

The community members have lent a helping hand, clearing the area and making it easier for Eskom to work.

Eskom officials say this community effort will speed up the process, but they're not sure exactly when the power will be back on.

Some community members are hopeful that tomorrow, December 10, might be the day. We're told there's a drilling truck on site, and they're working to fix the damaged poles.

We'll keep you updated as more information becomes available.

The power situation in Xihoko, Mispana, Kambako, Mugwazeni, Joppi and parts of Mawa Block 7 is getting worse day by day. Eskom says vandalism on the Mamitwa–Xihoko 22kV Feeder has caused an unplanned electricity outage.

Eskom technicians are on site assessing damage from conductor theft and another recent vandalism incident that slowed repair work. The estimated time of restoration (ETR) is not yet known.

The community is worried about surviving without electricity. Schools might struggle to operate and release results. Businesses are also concerned about coping with the ongoing outages.

Eskom urges everyone to protect electricity infrastructure and report illegal activities to law enforcement or the Eskom Crime Line: 0800 11 27 22. They apologize for the inconvenience and ask customers not to log faults during this period.

Only time will tell how the situation will unfold. We'll keep you updated with more information as it becomes available.

Mopani District Municipality’s Executive Mayor Cllr. P**e Shayi says the Municipality will count on the lessons learnt during phase one of the Giyani Water Reticulation Project to improve as it sets to start with phase two, which will benefit an additional 31 villages.

The Municipality has been implementing phase one of water reticulation with metered households connections in 24 villages in the Greater Giyani Municipality, with 23 villages already completed.

Speaking at an imbizo in Jim Nghalalume today, the Executive Mayor said the Municipality is ready to start with phase 2, but also stated due to funding difficulties it may not be possible to start with all the 31 villages at a go.

The community of Jim Nghalalume is amongst the communities benefiting from the 5 megalitre Mapuve Water Treatment Plant, which is largely dependent on raw water from the Middle-Letaba Dam.

He said that it was difficult to rely on Middle-Letaba for consistent supply, adding that the Municipality has fixed 298 boreholes

Mopani District Municipality's Executive Mayor, Cllr. P**e Shai, has highlighted the municipality's progress in the third quarter Batho Pele Imbizo held at Jim Nghalalume under Giyani Municipality.

Shai reported that the municipality has made significant strides in just three months and is confident they can achieve more with more time. He also announced a partnership with Limpopo Connection to provide free WiFi to residents, aiming to improve internet access for the youth.

However, Shai acknowledged the ongoing water crisis, stating that the municipality has completed the first phase of water distribution in Giyani and is waiting to start phase 2, which will cater to 33 villages. The main challenge is funding, but the municipality will continue to request funds.

Shai condemned the vandalism of electricity infrastructure in Tzaneen, saying it's affecting water treatment plants. He urged the community to work with the municipality to address this issue.

Residents of Ward 30 in Jim Nghalalume raised concerns about tar roads and water supply in areas like Ecopark. Shai responded, saying the municipality will look into these challenges and try to address them.

Residents of Xihoko, Musiphani, Joppi, Nyakelani, and Nkambako are finally getting some good news. After 10 long days without electricity, the Greater Tzaneen Municipality has reached an agreement with Eskom to fix the stolen cables and restore power.

Thanks to the efforts of community leaders, the municipality has committed to lending Eskom resources to get the job done. While Eskom hasn't given a clear timeline for when the lights will be back on, residents can expect it to happen soon.

Some villages in the Bolobedu area have been without electricity for a month, but there's hope that Sunday, December 7, might be the day the power is restored. We'll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
