BREAKING NEWS: NGOBENI NEW MAYOR FOR TZANEEN

The former spokesperson of the Mopani District Municipality, Odas Ngobeni, was appointed as the new mayor for Greater Tzaneen Municipality as of this morning the 25th of May.

This comes after Gerson Molapisane was called to the ANC Regional Offices earlier this month and reportedly given the choice to either resign as mayor, or be removed via a vote of no confidence during the council meeting.

Molapisane apparently refused to sign the resignation letter and survived the first council meeting.

Ngobeni was appointed as a PR Councillor two weeks ago, following the sudden resignation of PR Councillor Tennyson Ngobeni.

As of this morning, the now former mayor, Gerson Molapisane will be taking up his role as PR Councillor in the GTM.
