Ayanda Ace Tshangela is Ayanda Tshangela, a hip-hop force repping Ikhwezi Township, Mthatha, Eastern Cape. Known for razor-sharp lyricism and genre-fluid sound, he moves seamlessly between boom bap, trap, conscious rap, kwaito and amapiano-rap fusion.
His music has hit national airwaves on Channel O, MTV Base and multiple local radio stations, including a hometown anthem titled Khwezi Lokusa for Mthatha that earned city-wide recognition. Also claiming the crown as winner of Zakwes HoodVsHood Season 2 representing Team Umkhumbane, and was once named Underdog of the Day on Sliqour on Life. Organizing and hosting a very intimate show with the likes of Nobuhle Music and Vinnie Mak.
On stage, he’s held his own alongside Big Zulu, Msawawa, Monique Bingham, Somizi and more. In the booth, he’s collaborated with hitmakers Dearson of “Oscar Mbos Yebo Nkos” fame and Vinnie Mak of Kenza’s “All Mine”. His skill also earned private recording session invites from DJ Tira for confidential unreleased work.
Ace Tshangela is Mthatha’s underdog-turned-contender, building a catalog that’s rooted in the streets but built for national stages.
