Nomcebo Zuma, Jacob Zuma's daughter, is marrying King Mswati III, the Eswatini king. The two got engaged in an eight-day reed dancing ceremony, a traditional rite of passage for young women and girls held every year.

The 56-year-old king has 11 wives and has married 15 times. The monarch's spokesperson dismissed the narrative that the marriages are a political alliance.

Chidimma Adetshina accepts an invitation from Miss Universe Nigeria beauty pageant organisers, Silverbird Group, to participate in Miss Nigeria Universe.

This is her full statement posted on her Instagram page:

"Hello everyone 🫶🏾My name is Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina. I cannot start this video without expressing my gratitude to all the amazing/incredible people that have shown me so much love and support.

I have received an invitation from the Silverbird Group who are the organizers of the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, and I say this with great excitement because I have decided to accept this invitation.

I understand the responsibilities and expectations that come with this title and I am so excited to embark on this journey.

Thank you so much for this opportunity, and I look forward to participating in Africa’s most prestigious beauty pageant, Miss Universe Nigeria."

Miss South Africa 2024 Mia Le Roux on Chidimma Adetshina controversy. She was speaking to Newzroom Africa after her win.

"It was extremely hard for us because each one of us personally knows and loves Chichi. We truly believe that she did not deserve it, as we know she’s phenomenal, powerful, and beautiful in her own right. She deserved her spot on Miss South Africa. I stand for unity and I don't believe in division and she was."

Zanele Mbokazi, the Crown Gospel visionary, is dead at 52. According to News24, she was diagnosed with lung cancer and her condition deteriorated after being admitted to hospital.

Her husband, Bishop Mpendulo Nkambule, confirmed the news on social media.

"It is with a heavy heart that we, the Nkambule and Mbokazi family, announce the passing of our dearly beloved Ms Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule,"

"She departed to be with the Lord [in the] early hours of 12 August, Parklands Hospital. We are grateful for all the prayers, love and support we received throughout her illness."

Rest in Peace Zanele Mbokazi.
