📍ESWATINI – Two suspects linked to the murder of Sergeant Dumisani Mtshweni (47) have been shot dead in a joint cross-border operation in northern Eswatini.

Mtshweni was gunned down on 8 August while responding to a business robbery in Schoemansdal, near the SA–Eswatini border. Three suspects fled into Eswatini — two were tracked to Nyakatfo village in the north, while the third escaped to Mantambe in the south.

The raid was carried out by the Umbutfo Eswatini Defence Force, SAPS, and the Royal Eswatini Police Service. Authorities have not yet confirmed the suspects’ nationalities.

The Western Cape High Court has dismissed an appeal by Kelly Smith, Jacquen Appollis, and Steveno van Rhyn, who sought to overturn their life sentences for the kidnapping and trafficking of Joshlin Smith.

Judge Nathan Erasmus found no compelling reasons to grant the appeal, upholding the original sentences. Joshlin remains missing.

SOUTH AFRICA – ABSA has joined the Department of Home Affairs’ new digital partnership model to expand Smart ID and passport services to more bank branches and through banking apps.

This move revamps the 2016 pilot project, where ABSA was among the first banks to offer Home Affairs services via its branch network.

SA Rainbow News: BREAKING – MUIZENBERG POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING DEATHS OF FOUR MEN

MUIZENBERG – A police investigation is underway following the deaths of four men who were discovered with fatal gunshot wounds in Overcome Heights, Muizenberg, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

According to authorities, the victims – aged between 20 and 37 – were found along Mountain Road at approximately 05:30. The Anti-Gang Unit has been assigned to the case, and while investigations continue, police have not ruled out the possibility of gangsterism as a motive.

The South African Police Service is appealing to the public for any information that may assist in the investigation. Tip-offs can be shared anonymously by contacting Crime Stop on 08600 10111 or via the MySAPS app. All information will be treated with strict confidentiality.

🚨 SA Rainbow News: Two Suspects Killed in Inanda Police Shootout

INANDA – Two armed robbery suspects were shot and killed during a police confrontation in the Emaplazini area on Tuesday night.

Police say members of the Inanda SAPS Task Team, Inanda Vala Group, and Inanda Crime Prevention tracked the suspects to a house in the area. When officers announced their presence, the suspects allegedly opened fire, prompting a shootout.

Both suspects were fatally wounded, while no officers sustained injuries. Authorities recovered an unlicensed firearm at the scene.
