If LinkedIn gave you a prewritten caption, throw it in the bin.
Like, right now. Don’t make me come over there.

LinkedIn’s prewritten prompts are about as exciting as SaltiCrax on a paper plate.

They don’t sound like you.
They don’t tell your story.

And they definitely don’t make anyone stop scrolling and think, “Wait… I need to connect with this person.”

(Okay fine… I stopped scrolling. But only to write this.)

Guys. Your update is a moment.

Even if you’re in between jobs, you’re still a story in motion (how poetic, Cashé?), and that deserves more than a generic: “Excited to share I’m looking for new opportunities!”

Say something that reflects who you are, where you’re going, or what energy you’re bringing into the next chapter.

Add flavour. Add zhuzh. Make it more irresistible than a packet of Chilli Cheese GoSlows from the corner café.

Because in a sea of updates that sound like they were written by AI, personality stands out.

Over the weekend, I decided to have some fun with the ChatGPT Image Generator. I'm pretty sure that's what most of us did this weekend, right?

So, I posted one of the images on LinkedIn on a Saturday, thinking it might get a handful of likes, at best. I just put the prompt in the comments for anyone who was interested in recreating it and left it at that.

To my surprise… it was popular. I didn’t expect much, but I am now obsessed with seeing everyone’s “Action Figures”. 🤩

Has this taught me anything?

Absolutely. I’ve learned that you don’t need a complicated CTA to grab attention or build connections. Sometimes, just having a little fun and sharing something without expecting anything in return can have a much bigger impact.

8:39 AM: Desk time. Emails. Calls. So many calls.

I was this 👌 close to not posting a selfie on LinkedIn. 😬

I wondered, “Is this too much? Too basic? Too personal?” But hit post anyway and it blew up. One of my best-performing posts yet.

What’s the lesson here? The things we second-guess, whether it’s sharing a story, a sneak peek, or (gasp) our actual face, are often exactly what our audience is looking for. Authenticity always wins.

So... should we post behind-the-scenes, personal stuff to Kidd Digital? Maybe. But the bigger takeaway? Stop overthinking. Just post.

It’s Monday, and I’ve already written way too many emails with the same old intro… Don’t pretend you don’t know the one.

We’ve all used “I hope this email finds you well” at least once (okay, probably more times than we’d like to admit). I'm tired of using it, aren't you?
I like to think I’m charming enough to get away with a playful “Good morning,” and so far, it hasn’t blown up in my face (yet).
