The fire department was not present
© The Ekurhuleni safety officers did NOT declare danger and evacuate the nearby houses.
© People were allowed to loiter around the acvident scene with cars idling as the gas leaked.
Also
© MOST IMPORTANTLY this truck was on the road instead of a railroad, being transported via a train.

These deaths are a result of a state without proper leaders at the helm! Businesses taxes are not ringfenced towards roads and infrastructure.

In a developed country, the president would have already done a live adress to the nation.
We deserve a better organised society, we need to stop electing personalities and move towards capacity. I would rather have an efficient mayor that I do not like, than burn inside my home from
having incompetents who are charming.

My heart is still breaking i would again convey my heartfelt condolences to the relatives and loved ones of those who lost their lives under such devastating circumstances at a time when they should have been enjoying Christmas with their families. I also wish those injured a speedy recovery. we deserve better SA.
How ready is SA for emergencies?
How serious are we about safety?
Who are the safety officers on your municipalities?

Normal operation should not pose any specific risk to MOVING traffic, but when roll-overs and collisions occur with ANY vehicle bearing ANY Hazardous goods warnings, people should NEVER:

* Approach, drive or walk towards the vehicle.
* Remain in the area (move away immediately).
* Attempt to “see if they can help” by approaching the driver or the vehicle.
* Think that “being a distance away” is enough.
* Park their vehicles too close to the damaged vehicle.
* Use flashlights (torches), cell phones or radios to call for help, in the vicinity (sparks can cause a fire).
* Try to smell if they smell anything – some gasses can cause immediate incapacitation.
* Try to approach to help anyone who has already collapsed, unless they are properly equipped and trained to do so.
