Giraffes chew and suck on bones, using saliva to help dissolve and absorb the minerals on the bone's surface. The bones are not intended to be swallowed. The giraffe simply drops them after it has satisfied its nutrient craving. They have strong jaws, which allows them to manipulate and chew on the bones to a certain extent. The scientific term for this is known as osteophagia.

Lion mating is an intense process that involves frequent copulation over several days. During a 3- to 4-day period of receptiveness, a pair will mate every 15 to 30 minutes, with sessions lasting about a minute or less. This high frequency is necessary because the female is an induced ovulator, meaning mating stimulates her to ovulate (rather painful process). The process can be aggressive, involving the male biting the female's neck or ear. The female may react with growls or swipes. Normally a rather vocal affair from both sides! A thrilling moment to experience in the wild!!
