Standing in the Shadow of a Legend
📍 Elephant Hall, Letaba Rest Camp – Kruger National Park
Meet Mafunyane — one of the original Magnificent Seven tuskers of Kruger. A true icon of the wild, Mafunyane was known for his massive ivory, solitary nature, and the distinctive hole in his skull that made him truly unforgettable. His tusks, weighing over 55 kg each, now stand tall in tribute at Letaba's Elephant Hall.
Our private guide Andrew Aveley say " It was an incredible honour to stand beneath his legendary skull and tusks while hosting a private photo safari for Wild Expressions this past March. Moments like these remind us just how powerful, mysterious, and awe-inspiring nature can be. "
