PLEASE HELP!

Dear Sir/Madam

I hope this letter finds you well.My name is Noxolo Mkozola, and I am a parent who is currently facing financial difficulties while trying to provide for my children and support their education.

I am writing to humbly request a small financial/stock donation to help me start a small snack-selling business at school. My goal is to sell affordable snacks such as chips, sweets, sandwiches, and drinks to learners during school hours. This small business will help me earn an honest income and better provide for my children's daily needs, school expenses, and household responsibilities.

At the moment,I do not have enough capital to buy the initial stock and basic supplies needed to begin.Any amount you are willing to contribute,no matter how small, would make a meaningful difference and help me take the first step towards becoming financially stable and independent.

I am determined to work hard and build this business so that I can create a better future for my children.your kindness and support would not only help me start a business, but also give hope and encouragement to a mother/father striving to improve her/his family's life.

Thank you sincerely for taking the time to read my letter and for considering my request.I would deeply appreciate any assistance you may be able to offer.

Yours faithfully

Noxolo Mkozola

Heh Bathong, dumelang.

Bathong, Have you noticed that the Eskom load reduction seems to have stopped in other parts of Thabong, at least on the parts that I frequent? Could these new smart meters be the solution we’ve all been waiting for? 🫣

For the longest time, many of us had to endure power outages from 6am to 9am or 5pm to 8pm, sometimes twice a week interchangeably. It became part of life in our community. I’m not talking about the technical glitches that include exploded transformers and electrical cable theft.

Recently, I had a conversation with an Eskom employee who explained the issue from their perspective. According to him, load reduction was largely influenced by the amount of electricity being consumed on a transformer compared to the amount of electricity being paid for through that transformer in their system.

He further explained that the new smart meters are able to accurately measure household consumption against purchased units. This allows Eskom to identify discrepancies between electricity usage and electricity sales. In simple terms, if a significant number of households are bypassing meters or consuming electricity without paying for it, the numbers at the transformer level don’t add up, hochong batho neba tsipa ho kgaowe moo ho kgwehlang, as a result of this, they would have to cutoff the power for a while to allow their system to breathe, bathona lona 😥, le batlile le bolaya Eskom watseb’😭

If this explanation is correct, it could mean that the rollout of smart meters is helping Eskom better manage electricity consumption and revenue collection, reducing the need for load reduction in affected areas.

So, what has your experience been?

• Has load reduction stopped in your section of Thabong?
• Have you received a new smart meter?
• If you have one, has there been any improvement in the reliability of your electricity supply?

Could this be the break we have all been waiting for, or is it still too early to celebrate, can we give the minister of electricity his flowers? Are we seeing the benefits of the smart meter programme, or are we simply enjoying a lucky streak?

Let’s hear your experiences.

A few weeks back, I decided to visit Thabong Clinic. Of course, I was not sick; I simply wanted to observe the daily operations and get a sense of the overall condition of the facility.

We often complain about Thabong Clinic for many reasons, the attitude and arrogance of some nurses among them. And that’s okay; when there are problems, we must call a spade a spade.

Today, however, I would like to give credit where it is due.

I would like to give a special shout out to the clinic manager, ke motho wa Mme, unfortunately, I did not take her name. That lady is exceptional. She actively helps to move the queues faster, interacts with patients, and before you know it, she’s personally assisting with tasks such as taking blood pressure readings, etc.

From what I observed, it is clear that the clinic is under immense pressure. It appears understaffed and struggles to cope with the daily patient load. Despite these challenges, this lady is giving her all and leading from the front, it’s clear she need support even though she won’t say.

To the clinic manager of Thabong Clinic, we see your efforts, and they do not go unnoticed. Thank you for your dedication, compassion, and commitment to serving the people of Thabong.

At the same time, the Department of Health must do more to capacitate this facility. Security concerns need urgent attention, and the occupational health and safety conditions of employees must be improved. It cannot be right that staff are expected to perform at their maximum capacity while dealing with overwhelming patient volumes, long queues, and patients returning day after day because they could not be assisted.

Healthcare workers can only do so much with the resources available to them. Government must invest in more personnel and ensure that facilities such as Thabong Clinic are adequately staffed and equipped to serve our communities effectively. Let the government hire more people. 😥

May God continue to give you strength as you serve our community Mme, we see you, we love and appreciate you. ❤️

If you know her name, please tag her or mention her name in the comments so she can receive the recognition she deserves.
