Bookstorm

Bookstorm A boutique non-fiction book publisher in South Africa We also undertake custom publishing projects from time to time. Louise Grantham, Publisher and CEO

Bookstorm is a boutique book publishing company offering focused experience and innovation in the creation of books for the South African market. Created by Basil van Rooyen and Louise Grantham the company combines the talents and experience of two publishers who offer a combined 48 years of publishing experience. Bookstorm partners with PanMacmillan who provide sales and marketing expertise and r

esources to the company – many of our projects are produced as co-publications. We publish books for the general reading public in South Africa – books that will have a market in South African bookshops. Our focus is currently on non-fiction books for adult readers. Trade publishing is something that gets under your skin – there is nothing to beat the thrill of developing ideas with authors and seeing them grow into something more than either of you could have come up with on your own. At Bookstorm we will develop these synergies to bring fresh ideas and new voices to South African bookshelves.

It Always Seems Impossible by James Urdang is more than a memoir - it's a gripping expose of how a grassroots South African charity, Education Africa, was nearly destroyed by the corporate misconduct of HSBC Bank.

Published by Bookstorm. Available online and in all good bookstores.

We’re pleased to confirm that the Franschhoek Literary Festival is going ahead as planned this weekend.

We’ve been working closely with Franschhoek Tourism, who have confirmed that the village is well on its way to welcoming visitors.
Clear weather is forecast, all venues are accessible, and roads into Franschhoek are open (including the R45 via Brickfields). Please take care on the R301 near the prison, where some water remains.
We look forward to seeing you for a wonderful weekend of books, ideas and conversation!
Best wishes,
The FLF Team
