Independent Commission for Human Rights Raises Concerns Over Money Offer in Man B Case

The Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR) has released a statement on its page after receiving new information about the ongoing Man B case.

According to the Commission, community advocate Mr. President Onganyobekiyo received WhatsApp messages from Man B’s office showing that money was offered in an attempt to “resolve” the matter. The messages mention an amount of R80,000, and later an additional R50,000.

The Commission also noted that the messages referenced the mayor, suggesting that the mayor might be aware of the situation. However, it is still unclear in what role or capacity the mayor is involved.

Onganyobekiyo refused the offer, saying he would not accept money connected to people’s pain.

“I will not take money meant to silence this case,” he said.
“Whether the mayor is involved or not, I stand with the truth.”

Power Struggles Erupt as Shivambu Battles to Contain Revolt Inside Afrika Mayibuye Movement

What began as Floyd Shivambu’s grand political rebirth is now showing signs of an internal revolt, with senior leaders quitting in patterns that suggest something far deeper than “personal decisions”.

The simultaneous resignations of deputy secretary-generals Gabsile Cynthia Shongwe and Luther Lebelo have intensified suspicions that a factional war is tearing through the Afrika Mayibuye Movement (AMM). Their exits follow a string of other high-profile departures, all pointing to a leadership structure in turmoil.

Behind the polite resignation letters and diplomatic language lies a growing whisper:
Is Shivambu losing control of the very movement he created?

Former first deputy president Nolubabalo Mcinga already hinted at a brewing internal purge, accusing individuals close to Shivambu of trying to silence early organisers and consolidate control around a shrinking inner circle.

The sudden exit of deputy president Robert Nwedo only added fuel to the fire. While he cited a need to focus on Mawusa, insiders say his departure reflects the broader frustration with how decisions are being made inside the movement.

With top leaders leaving one after another, the pattern is becoming hard to ignore — and critics are beginning to question whether AMM’s internal structures were ever stable enough to survive the pressures of national politics.

Despite the chaos, the movement insists everything is under control. But with resignations piling up, it appears the real battle for AMM’s future is happening behind closed doors, where power, influence and loyalty are being tested like never before.

Betusile Mcinga Questions NAC Funding Fairness After Another Rejection

Eastern Cape gospel artist and event organiser Betusile Mcinga has publicly challenged the National Arts Council’s funding process after his O.R. Tambo Gospel Music Festival was rejected once again.

Mcinga, who has run the festival for over six years, says he consistently meets all requirements but has never received support from the NAC. The event funds key community initiatives such as school uniform drives, food parcels for disadvantaged families, and bursaries for students.

In an open letter addressed to Sports, Arts and Culture Minister Gayton McKenzie, Mcinga expressed frustration that “the same organisations and events seem to benefit every year,” while rural-based projects like his are repeatedly overlooked.

He criticised the NAC’s rejection letter for failing to provide clear reasons or guidance on how to improve future applications.

Mcinga added that rural festivals create jobs, boost local tourism, and support small businesses yet they remain unsupported by government structures meant to uplift the arts sector.

As of now, Minister McKenzie has not yet responded to Mcinga’s concerns.

Public Figures Expose Two Very Different Sides of Political Leadership

A new wave of public commentary from MK Party MP Sibonelo Nomvalo and gospel artist Betusile Mcinga has highlighted a stark contrast in the personal conduct of two of South Africa’s most recognisable political figures.

Nomvalo delivered a scathing critique of Floyd Shivambu, accusing him of arrogance, aloofness, and an inability to connect with people. He said Shivambu’s behaviour has fuelled resignations within the Mayibuye formation and questioned how one can lead without understanding the basic courtesy of greeting others.

But in the same breath, Nomvalo drew a sharp contrast with Julius Malema, describing him as surprisingly warm in person. He said that even after public disagreements, Malema still approaches others to shake hands a gesture Nomvalo says reveals humility and emotional maturity behind the firebrand image.

Gospel star Betusile Mcinga echoed this softer view of Malema, praising his empathy, respect, and kindness toward staff during campaign travels. He said Malema’s compassion is genuine, not a performance for the cameras.

Zuma-Sambudla’s Shock Resignation Raises Bigger Questions — What Is MK Party Not Saying?

Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla’s sudden resignation from Parliament has ignited a wildfire of speculation across the country, with many wondering whether her departure is truly about “discipline” or whether the MK Party is trying to get ahead of a scandal spiralling out of control.

Although MKP spokesperson Magasela Mzobe insists that Zuma-Sambudla walked away voluntarily, political analysts say the timing is far too explosive to ignore. Her resignation comes precisely as the nation demands answers about 17 South African men allegedly recruited to join a foreign war, a case already clouded by secrecy, confusion and heartbreak for families left in the dark.

Mzobe maintains the party is standing firmly behind her, but critics aren’t convinced.
If she’s innocent, they ask, why step aside at such a politically delicate moment?

According to Mzobe, Zuma-Sambudla wanted freedom from parliamentary duties so she could “cooperate fully” with investigators. But for many South Africans, the move feels like a strategic retreat a protective layer between herself and a scandal that is growing louder by the day.

Her resignation also places pressure on the MK Party itself. The party now faces scrutiny over how much it knew, when it knew it, and whether more senior figures may be implicated. For a movement already battling for political credibility, this crisis threatens to damage its public image at a critical time.

Meanwhile, families of the missing men are still begging for transparency. They want answers, not politics. And for them, Zuma-Sambudla’s resignation is not closure it’s a new chapter of uncertainty.

EFF Leads Massive March Demanding ConCourt Release Phala Phala Judgment

Thousands of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) supporters took to the streets of Braamfontein as party leader Julius Malema intensified pressure on the Constitutional Court to release its long-awaited judgment on the Phala Phala matter involving President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The EFF turned to the apex court last year after Parliament dismissed a panel report which suggested Ramaphosa may have violated his oath of office in relation to the 2020 theft of foreign currency at his Limpopo farm.
Despite the significance of the case, a full year has passed without the court handing down its ruling.

On Friday, the red-clad crowd marched to the Constitutional Court, accusing it of failing to meet its own standards of timely justice. Malema said the delay was unacceptable, arguing that courts cannot expect lower courts to deliver judgments within three months while taking a year on matters of national importance.

He told supporters, “You cannot preach deadlines to those under you while you miss your own. If others must deliver in three months, then you should do it in two. Justice delayed is justice denied.”
