In a heartfelt tribute to Nelson Mandela’s enduring legacy, Emalahleni FM today participated in the 67 Minutes of Mandela Day by giving back to the community alongside Spar and Witbank's Miss Teen finalist Amogelang Madinane.
The outreach took place at the Poly Clinic in Lynnville where patients; many of whom spend long hours waiting for medical assistance were offered warm soup, fresh bread, and cake. The gesture brought comfort and nourishment to those present, reflecting the values of compassion and service that Mandela Day represents.
Spar sponsored the cake, while Miss Teen Finalisy contributed generous quantities of bread. Emalahleni FM helped facilitate the distribution, ensuring a smooth and dignified experience for all recipients. In addition to their hands-on support, the station also donated clothing items, extending warmth and dignity to those in need.
The initiative highlighted the power of collective goodwill and the importance of small acts of kindness in spaces where they are most needed. In honouring Mandela’s call to serve, the day stood as a reminder of the spirit of Ubuntu — that humanity is bound together by shared responsibility and care.
Through initiatives like this, Emalahleni FM continues to affirm its role as a community driven broadcaster committed to uplifting lives beyond the airwaves.
