Chadiza District Commissioner Urges Collaboration for School Health Program Success

Chadiza District Commissioner, Mr. Malan Zimba, officiated at the School Learners Health Program expansion in Chadiza District, Eastern Province. In his speech, he highlighted the significance of the program, which aims to provide essential health services to learners in schools. The program is a government initiative, fully endorsed by President Hakainde Hichilema, who emphasizes the importance of a healthy and educated population for the nation's future.
The School Health Program has been benefiting learners in Eastern Province, particularly in Chipata District, where it has reached over 4,000 learners and trained 232 school health teachers and coordinators. The program is now expanding to Chadiza District, which is one of four districts in the province selected for this initiative. The other districts include Kasenengwa, Katete, and Petauke. This expansion is a testament to the government's commitment to improving the health and well-being of learners.
The School Health Program is crucial in addressing health issues that affect learners' attendance and academic performance. By providing basic yet essential health services, the program aims to reduce worm infections, malaria cases, and improve menstrual hygiene management. He also thanked Healthy Learners for their technical and financial support and called upon other partners and the private sector to join the cause and contribute to the program's success.
