My Thoughts on Neocolonialism

Neocolonialism, a wolf in sheep's clothing, disguises domination as cooperation."

"Neocolonialism, like a tangled web, ensnares nations in economic dependency."

"Neocolonialism, a puppeteer's strings, controls the destiny of nations from behind the scenes."

"Neocolonialism, a silent invasion, infiltrates cultures, extracting wealth and resources."

"Neocolonialism, a shadowy force, perpetuates inequality, leaving nations in its wake."

"Neocolonialism, a masked oppressor, manipulates markets and exploits labor."

"Neocolonialism, a vampire of sovereignty, drains nations of their autonomy and self-determination."

"Neocolonialism, a mirage of progress, disguises exploitation with promises of development."

"Neocolonialism, a subtle usurper, perpetuates power imbalances through economic dominance."

"Neocolonialism, a phoenix of imperialism, rises anew, spreading its wings of control."

Ubuntu Bwa Bantu Bene-bene.
(The humaneness of real humans)

Ubuntu, the philosophy of interconnectedness among Bantu people, is a beautiful expression of humanity. It emphasizes that "I am because we are," highlighting the intrinsic bond we share as humans.

Ubuntu calls upon us to exhibit compassion, kindness, and empathy towards others, acknowledging their worth and dignity. By practicing Ubuntu, we actively listen, understand, and respect others, fostering a sense of shared humanity.

This principle extends beyond humans, embracing our relationship with the environment and all living beings. Ubuntu represents the manifestation of love, promoting harmony, social cohesion, and a more compassionate world.

Ubuntu conveys the idea that our network is our net worth. Alone, we may be insignificant, but together we possess great value. Ubuntu embodies unity and the concept of sharing: what is mine is yours, and what is yours is ours. We consider each other's children as our own, and every elderly person in society becomes our mother or father. This interconnectedness makes all the difference.

This is the essence of life in Africa. Our ancestors lived in harmony, free from unnecessary competition, divorces, crime, perpetual poverty, and the divisiveness of certain vices such as homophobia, feminism, and misguided activism against human rights.

Ubuntu is not confined to religion but is deeply spiritual. It represents a vital and practical aspect of African spirituality. If the Quran and Bible only make you religious, explore the teachings that make you truly spiritual.

A Few Surprising Facts About Africa

Once upon a time, in the vast and diverse continent of Africa, an enchanting land filled with wonder and hidden treasures, I embarked on a journey that unraveled some truly astonishing facts. Allow me to share with you the captivating stories I discovered about this extraordinary place.

🐘 The Majestic Wildlife: Africa is renowned for its breathtaking wildlife, and rightly so. From the towering elephants gracefully roaming the savannahs to the graceful cheetahs sprinting across the plains, the continent is a haven for nature lovers. Did you know that Africa is home to the largest population of lions in the world? These regal creatures reign over the grasslands, their roars echoing through the vastness of the wild.

🏞️ Natural Wonders: Africa boasts some of the most magnificent natural wonders on Earth. Prepare to be amazed by Victoria Falls, located on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. Its thundering waters and spectacular rainbows make it one of the world's most breathtaking waterfalls. Equally mesmerizing is the Sahara Desert, stretching across several African countries. Its vastness is awe-inspiring, revealing sand dunes that seem to touch the sky.

🌺 Cultural Diversity: Africa is a vibrant tapestry of cultures and traditions. With over 2,000 distinct languages spoken, the continent thrives on its rich heritage. From the rhythmic beats of traditional drumming to the graceful movements of tribal dances, Africa's cultural expressions are a celebration of life. The Maasai people of East Africa, with their colorful attire and intricate beadwork, showcase the beauty of African traditions.

πŸ“š Ancient History: Africa is a treasure trove of ancient civilizations. Egypt, with its iconic pyramids and the Sphinx, stands as a testament to the greatness of the past. The Kingdom of Aksum, in what is now Ethiopia, was once a flourishing empire, known for its impressive obelisks and the mysterious Church of St. Mary of Zion. The rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, also in Ethiopia, leave visitors in awe with their intricate architecture carved out of solid rock.

🌿 Biodiversity Hotspot: Africa is teeming with biodiversity, harboring countless plant and animal species found nowhere else on Earth. The Congo Basin, the second-largest tropical rainforest in the world, is a sanctuary for endangered species like gorillas and bonobos. The Great Rift Valley, stretching over 6,000 kilometers, supports a diverse range of ecosystems, from lakes and savannahs to dense forests.

As my journey through Africa unfolded, I marveled at the beauty, cultural richness, and astonishing diversity that this captivating continent offers. Africa's captivating landscapes, ancient history, and vibrant cultures left an indelible mark on my soul.

So, let us not forget the surprises that await us in Africa. Explore its wonders, embrace its traditions, and immerse yourself in the extraordinary stories that this enchanting continent has to offer. The Danger Of The Stranger
-A poem by Chaabilo Chikachi.S

Entering Zambia
First friendly and funny friends
Then to unexpected enemies
All hatred consuming my soul
The danger of the stranger.

Childhood innocence
And safe childhood memories
Then school begins
From teenage to adult
Girls and boys
With deep insecurities
And having no voice
Where they obey without a choice
Being played like broken toys
Learning the danger of the stranger.
Our educational systems are colonial.

Growing into adulthood
To learn hatred and rage
Resentment and jealousy
Love gone, instead anger here
And much, much fear
The danger of the stranger.
A Zimbabwean is a foreigner in Zambia
But a white man is an investor.

A mad world, pain about,
Freedom a myth
Taught in childhood
Where once glorious colours
Now only black, white and grey
Like ebbing winter clouds
On that horrible school day
The cold world
A world made of stone
Leaving me to shiver to the bone
The danger of the stranger,
No economical muscle.

Like accepting tempting sweets
From that seemingly mature adult
But it is all a trick:
A trick of the light
Hard to defend oneself
And put up a self preserving fight
The adult to abuse,
Scold and emotions confuse
The mind lost in upset and dread
Sometimes wishing oneself dead
Where they live in a world
Where no one sees red but black
The danger of the stranger.

In my mind searing pain
Like a thousand knives
Piercing my bruised back
And leaving me to bleed
Ignored in my hour of need
To be branded a fool
Others hurting me to look cool
European countries are never
A solution
The danger of the stranger.

Seeing others suffer
Brings me down
To the lower levels of hell
Where Satan does his job well
Satan watching them bleed
And ignoring them
In their hour of need
Where they need permission
To make their dreams come true
Afrika need permission from Europe
Not knowing they
Had once been losers too
Having themselves fallen for
The danger of the stranger.

02/06/2023

Revision...Then the young ladies asked me about waist beads and their sexuality as in the olden days. Afrikan integrated lifestyle to spirituality, sea shells, dried seeds, animal bones/teeth were all used as fashion with meaning and spiritual connections. Different tribes among from the east and south of the continent have different names like Ibebe-Idi or Ileke-Idi, the Yoruba, Jigida, Tshuma/chuma-Karanga, ubuhlali-Zulu, jigida- Hausa and Mgbaji to the Igbo, others call them Giri-Giri, Yomba, Jel-Jellies; Bin-Bin, and Djay-Djay. It’s a fact that all Afrikan tribes have a history and unique design and meaning of beads.

Necklaces, brass/cooper/gold bracelets, headgears, earrings, waist beads all worked to stimulate chakras a clear sign of a civilization which has full awareness of spiritual anatomy of the human body! Trade in the early centuries with the Indians saw Afrikans using beads as currency to trade ivory/gold for materials and beads. When a civilization is at the pinnacle, art becomes the only trade.

The woman was in control of her sexuality and she determined when she was safe and ready to have children or engage in sexual activity and her diary was her waist beads. More than the mystery that goes with them-it’s the discipline they taught and information they kept as daily the woman connected with bids as her cycles turns with the stars and moon.

For a start you can make your own cycle beads maybe with 3 colors : say red for β€œred days”when you on your periods ... white when you finish and safe and blue as you ovulating again. Have a black rubber band you move every day as you master your moon cycle between the 28 and 32 days. Remember you are cosmical your cycle is with the moon and stars not the calendar.

Listed below is a desktop view of the use of the beads and the modern girls can learn a thing or two from the past.

* Decoration/sexual attraction -it takes the attention from all to the waist line.
* Representation of love-as the Zulu women make a necklace for their man, other cultures the man can gift her loved one with a waist beads as a token of love.
* Weight control- very important is the common sense which waist beads teach and that is weight loss and early signs of pregnancy. The body of a woman is written on her waist line, monitoring the waist line through beads kept the woman knowledgeable about her anatomy.
* Best foreplay -while many modern women are complaining of lack of foreplay and premature ej*******on beads are specifically designed to be the foreplay tools for both male and female.
* Contraception- the woman would use these to count her cycle. In modern days the black rubber band guides and is a library of information on menstrual cycles.
* Spiritual protection- since these are around the womb -often they would also be used as a protection from bad sexual energy and exposure to diseases of the womb. These were specially made often with a history of challenges presents itself and prescription from healers.
* Chastity/Sensuality- in some tribes a certain type of beads would be given to determine purity.
* Rites of Passage-as the woman is entering maturity some tribe graduate the initiates with beads.
* Royalty-the most glamorous and precious would be the beads for royal maidens which would set them apart from the rest.

The man would identify his wife with beads and the history of every woman is written on her waist.. so beads have all the memory of those who have touched them. Children who have passed by here and history of nations was written on a woman’s beads. To see these beads is to see the woman’s nakedness.

Knowledge is neutral and the young generation must develop an appetite to demystify fear of their history , take what is useful for the present life and pass on the heritage.
