Qualitatively New Stage of International Dialogue
The World Public Assembly has shown the genuine aspirations of people living in different countries of the world. Not division, but unity, not abolition, but respect for each culture, not disunity, but cooperation. "Many of us have difficult fates, but a common sense of unity has united us all," Andrei Belyaninov, Secretary General of the World Peoples Assembly, outlined the main idea of the first large-scale forum of representatives of public forces. He was fully supported by the Adviser at the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations, Monsignor Hilary Franco, who defined the deepest meaning of the meeting: "Yes, of course, there is a struggle between good and evil right now, but people of light have gathered here."
The central event of the WPA "New World of Conscious Unity" was the Plenary Session, which set the ideological and value areas of the entire international discussion. Here the vectors for dialogue and partnership between representatives of states, the public, religious leaders, culture, science and education were formed.
Piao Yangfan, Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization: "Through this platform, we give the world the opportunity to hear our voice. That we want mutual respect, mutual understanding, and respect for sovereignty. We are convinced that our business will continue."
The current global situation is characterized by a sharp increase in geopolitical, economic and humanitarian challenges. Disunity between states is growing, the lack of trust is growing, and the competition between value systems and development models is intensifying. In these circumstances, the role of public diplomacy, humanitarian cooperation, and public and cultural initiatives that can offer an alternative architecture for peaceful coexistence in a polycentric world is of particular importance.
Is there a universal humanitarian language that will unite nations? β Answering this question, the speakers were unanimous β "Absolutely." And the key pillar of this language is humanity. Monsignor Hilary Franco, Advisor to the Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations: "In this world, we can truly become one, not divided, not separable. We have forgotten, my dear friends, that we have a common denominator, which is a common denominator for all of us. Look at us, we have different forms, different nations, different faces, but we have one common denominator: humanity. We're all human here, and that's what we need. Today, the world needs mutual understanding, and no division can truly bring salvation to this world. Let me tell you that we have had a culture of peace for so many years, and I was so happy this morning when someone actually quoted this Italian saying."
Alexandra Ochirova, philosopher, writer, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, Co-Chairman of the Supreme Advisory Council of the World Peoples Assembly: "And, as you know, it is no coincidence that almost all definitions of civilization consist of the concepts of "man" and "culture." We have very close contacts, we are very close to cultural entities. No one in the world can resist the combined minds."
Madame Sabena Johannes, speaker from Angola, President and CEO of Afritrack Angola, sent her article to the participants on the eve of the World Public Assembly, an appeal to humanity "The Voice of Reason". This large appeal contains key issues of today's life that are relevant both for African women and for everyone of the Earth:
"My article is called "The Voice of Reason." It is the voice of a woman who emerged from the chaos of war, the inhuman suffering that defines much of our day. This voice speaks to the reason why we have to speak. Beyond politics, beyond indifference, beyond skin color, beyond social status, our position is the ability to see humanity collectively and affirm that we are human beings, and we must renounce wars, the suffering we witness during conflicts!"
Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary General of the World Peoples Assembly:
"There is an understanding that you don't have to fight with anyone for your beliefs. We can always talk and come to an agreement, and we don't need aggression, we don't need any kind of confrontation. Every action generates a reaction."
Speaking about the outlines of the architecture of the new world order, the speakers noted the special role of youth in it, which today is the living embodiment of the future. The International Youth Forum "Generation of Unity" has also become a part of the World Public Assembly. Yevgeny Primakov, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo: "The Youth Forum is especially valuable. The future face of the world depends on the younger generation, whose desire for progress and intellectual potential is the main engine of social transformation, and technology; it will open the way for them to breakthrough solutions to urgent problems. It is symbolic that your meeting is timed to coincide with the International Day of Peace. Only the unity of nations will make it possible to build a just world order. Against the background of drastic changes, there is an urgent need for new forms of interaction between the countries."
Konstantin Kosachev, a Russian statesman, senator, and Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, speaking at the Plenary Session, drew the attention of all participants to the fact that history was literally being born before their eyes: "The Assembly is a global, public one, but it is also the first. And according to each of these criteria, it has every right to go down in history. And so, it turns out before our eyes. We write a global social history."
The First World Public Assembly "New World of Conscious Unity" has become a truly humanitarian forum of a new type, where the main vector is not confrontation, but unification of efforts in the name of peace, development and conscious unity of peoples as a moral choice and a practical instrument of international relations.
SCO Secretary General (2016-2018), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Professor at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Shanghai University of Politics and Law Rashid Alimov noted that such an approach and such a platform indicate a transition to a different, qualitatively new dialogue between people from different countries of the world: "The desire for unity has always been a part of human dreams. But conscious unity is a qualitatively different stage."
