*Chipata city Women Hail Johnston Silungwe's Decision to Contest Mayoral Seat in the next years elections*

Johnston Silungwe, aspiring mayoral candidate and current Masupe Ward councilor, has received unanimous support from a women's group in Malend Compound, Chipata.

This endorsement comes after Silungwe acknowledged the challenges faced by the women, including limited access to water and economic opportunities.

By fostering a working relationship with the women, Silungwe demonstrated his commitment to addressing their concerns.

His gesture was met with appreciation and enthusiasm, culminating in the women's unanimous endorsement of his mayoral bid.

The aspiring mayoral candidate appealed to the women not to lose Focus on their future by ensuring they properly scrutinize the candidates as they will approach to the next tripatite election in 2026

Chipata City Aspiring Mayor Hon. Johnstone Silungwe Has called on the church to remain united during the Pre-campaigns of the forth coming General Elections.

Mr Silungwe said this today during Mass at Liona Catholic Church within chipata City.

Hon. Silungwe says , During the Pre- campaign period, the church should remain united and not accept to be divided with Potential people who will contest for this Election.

He said Politicians shouldn't divide the church as they are doing their Pre- campaign period.

The Mass at Liona Catholic Church was presided by the Diocesesan Treasurer General Fr. Bernard Makadani Zulu.

MSORO ROAD IN MASUPE WARD RECEIVES A FACELIFT

Masupe ward councillor, Johnstone Silungwe of Chipata Central, has received praise for his decision to work on the long-neglected, dilapidated part of Msoro road, a stretch from Referendum junction via Chipata ZNBC mass media area, using CDF 2024 project funds.

Silungwe disagreed with the decision to wait for central government funds, as guided by the CDF office, stating that the road had become impassable. He argued that Msoro road, which has been neglected for a long time, had lost hope among road users in his ward, as part of it is in Masupe Ward.

Chipata's Msoro road can be likened to a well-regarded woman whose beauty has deteriorated significantly, having been neglected by a good number of men who promised to take care of her but eventually ran away after making love.

According to information made available to the media, the road in question was given to a named contractor who abandoned the project before completion time.

Msoro road covers Chipata Central, Kasenengwa, and Malambo Constituencies.
