WE ARE TRIBALISTS BECAUSE YOU LABLE US AS SUCH....Now let's lecture Mr Victor Lungu that the tribal labeling he is obsessed with only exist in his mind
Victor Lungu , if your favorite candidate wants votes from Southern Province, why not tell him to persuade Southerners through his manifesto instead of pointing fingers and labeling them as tribalists?
Do you really think calling Southerners tribalists will make them change how they vote and choose a candidate who insults them? That’s not how democracy works.
Take a page from HH’s playbook. He never accused Bembas or Easterners of tribalism when they didn’t vote for him in big numbers in 2006, 2008, 2011, 2015,and 2016. He respected their democratic choices and kept engaging them through his party’s manifesto. Over time, with patience and consistency, he built momentum and eventually people from Northern and Eastern Provinces joined in large numbers to support his vision for Zambia.
Say what you want about HH in his private life, but publicly, he’s never shown tribal tendencies since entering politics. He’s a master of persuasion and patience. That’s why UPND stands on a strong foundation, and tearing it down won’t be easy.
What happened in 2021 wasn’t magic. It was the result of years of groundwork since HH became UPND President.
Yet you think calling Southerners tribalists will win you an election? Think again. Southern Province alone gave HH over 600,000 votes in 2021. If you believe your candidate can win without Southern support, you’re joking.
Teach your candidate how to persuade people. Without that skill, they’ll never become President.
Ask yourself this: why does HH, despite being labeled a tribalist by some, still pull strong numbers in Eastern and Northern Provinces? It’s simple, HH doesn’t label tribes. He understands that politics is a game of numbers, not insults.
