😢 STUDENT CALLS FOR HELP- KALUMBILA DISTRICT

Request for Financial Assistance

My name is Kashweka Kanyanga, a 23-year-old nursing student at North-Western University, Solwezi. I successfully completed my First Year, First Semester with a clear pass and was scheduled to return for my First Year, Second Semester on 5th January 2026.
At the start of my studies, I supported myself through farming, which allowed me to pay my tuition and perform well academically. However, my financial situation has now become extremely challenging, and I am unable to cover my school expenses.
My father is deceased, and I live with my mother, who is solely responsible for supporting my younger siblings. Despite these challenges, I remain determined to complete my nursing education, as I am passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in my community.
I humbly appeal for any financial assistance or sponsorship that could help me return to school and continue my studies. Your support will not only enable me to pursue my dreams but also contribute to the health and wellbeing of others in the future.
Thank you very much for your time, understanding, and consideration.
Yours faithfully,
Kashweka Kanyanga

GSDI calls for disability inclusion as a right, not charity

GOOD Shepherds Disability Initiative (GSDI) has called on communities, churches, government institutions, and civil society to embrace disability inclusion as a right, not charity.

The local non-profit, based in Kabompo said persons with disabilities in Kabompo District deserve full participation in education, health, livelihoods and national development.

“We are championing the rights of persons with disabilities. Inclusion is not optional, it is a constitutional right,” said GSDI chairperson Jonathan Sakuwunda.

GSDI works closely with the Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities (ZAPD) to register persons with disabilities, raise awareness about their rights and provide access to services.

Parents, caregivers and volunteers are also trained to support persons with disabilities in their communities.

The NGO has backed the recent assenting of Bill 7 into law, which aimed at strengthening representation, equality and participation of persons with disabilities in national governance.

Sakuwunda said membership to GSDI is open to all, including persons with disabilities, parents, supporters and volunteers who share the organization’s mission of building an inclusive Zambia.

“Together, we can ensure that no one is left behind. Every ability counts,” the chairperson added.https://kalemba.news/local/gsdi-calls-for-disability-inclusion-as-a-right-not-charity/
