BROTHER STRIKES HIS BROTHER TO DEATH IN LWIMBA

Lwimba residents have been left in shock after a tragic family dispute turned deadly this afternoon.

A man identified as Coster Chipoka, aged between 30 and 35, is reported to have struck his elder brother, Collins Chipoka (aged between 37 and 40), on the head with an axe during a fight around 15:00 hours in Kasolo Village, Lwimba, Manyika area of Chongwe District.

Preliminary reports suggest that the confrontation began after Collins allegedly insulted their mother. Coster claimed he intervened to stop him, which led to the fight. However, their mother has denied being insulted by Collins.

Sources further indicate that underlying tensions may have stemmed from land disputes. It is alleged that Coster and their mother wanted to sell the family land, a move Collins strongly opposed, fueling longstanding hostility.

During the altercation, Coster is said to have used an axe to strike his brother on the head and possibly another object on the ear. Collins was rushed to Lwimba Clinic, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The body has since been deposited at the mortuary, while Coster has been apprehended by Lwimba Police as investigations continue to establish the actual cause of the fatal fight.

This incident has left the Lwimba community in deep sorrow and disbelief.
