THIEVES IN KABWE HAVE STOLEN K1.8231643 FROM FVG AND K68,987 FROM SUPRA FEED.

The incident occurred between 21:00hrs hrs of 11/05/25 and 06:00hrs of 12/05/25 at Supra feed industry in Kabwe district.

Brief facts are that the premises are guarded by armed Zambia Police officers. On 11/05/25 at 18:00hrs, C/Insp Dyololo reported on duty at FVG Miliing company and was joined by M/Michael Banda aged 28 , security guards from Linton Security.

On 12/05/25 around 06:00hrs F/Patricia Kafula aged 49, the office orderly reported on duty and whilst at the offices she noticed something unusual at the main entrance of the two offices which share the same main entrance.

She quickly rushed to inform M/Michael Banda and others, including the police. They later reported the matter to management, and when they checked through the offices, they discovered that the two safes were destroyed using an unknown instrument. The matter was officially reported to the police station.

The police visited the scene and found that there was a hole on the transparent piece of roof, and after a thorough check on the area around the premises, a K24, 450=00, was found lying on the ground. A ladder purported to have been used in climbing the wall was also found and picked. Recovery of K24,450 was made. No arrest made.

πŸ’Š Drug Pilferage at Kasanda Clinic Exposed and Stopped by TI-Z -Empowered Youth Group! πŸ›‘

For years, residents of Kasanda community in Kabwe District left their main health facility, Kasanda Clinic, with prescriptions but no medicineβ€”despite official claims that drugs were in stock.
The missing link? Rampant drug pilferage.

That changed in 2024 when CHESIZ (Community Health Education Sports Initiative Zambia), a youth group trained by TI-Z in corruption-reporting and social accountability, took action.

Equipped with fact-finding skills and backed by their community, CHESIZ launched a campaign demanding answers. They uncovered systemic mismanagement at the clinic, engaged the District Health Office and Provincial Administration, and pushed for the removal of facility management and creation of a medical oversight committee.

πŸ’ͺ🏾 The results?
βœ… Drug pilferage stopped
βœ… New management installed
βœ… Medicines now consistently available
βœ… Strengthened watchdog action group
βœ… Renewed trust between the clinic and the community

"We saw change because we acted, engaged stakeholders, and stood with the community," said Maximillian Chanda, Executive Director of CHESIZ.

This is what youth-led accountability looks like β€” and it works! Look out for the full article on our website later this week.

Kabwe Mayor Patrick Chishala writes;

LATEST OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON LUKANGA BUS STATION...

Happy Palm Sunday to Everyone.
In my capacity as Mayor of Kabwe, I wish to officially confirm to the General Public the money which Kabwe Municipal Council has been waiting for from government by Wednesday last week had hit the council accounts. This money is meant to finally complete the construction of the Bus Station.
Earlier, the Government through ministry of Local government gave authority to the council to start using sector funds which would be reimbursed when the council is given the required money ..

With this latest development, Kabwe council has called back the old contractor who had stopped due to lack of funds to come and complete the works they had started .The council has also contracted ZNS to assist quickly Finnishup the other works like.:
1.doing the entire ceiling board
2. The drainage system
3. The fencing and other fewer works here and there..
The station is almost done.we have also started the land scaping eg. Planting some trees and grass here and there..

We are hoping that the station can finish in the next 14 to 20 days.

I wish to take this rare opportunity to thank Government for the money which has been released. As a council we are very much aware that when the President of the Republic of zambian visitedus he made a pronouncement to finish the project in 30 days. An ultimatum was given to the council to finish the works in 30 days and people have since been counting down , it was quite difficult to work without money but now with the availability of funds the General Public is assured that we shall move very fast and catch up with the remaining time bearing in mind that we need to do quality works..
The details of the funds released shall be availed to the Public in due course.

Iam calling on the council management to ensure that the funds are used prudently with quality work as expected by the General Public..
More updates coming soon.
Signed by His worship the mayor of Kabwe...

KABWE WARRIORS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE DISSOLVED

Kabwe Warriors Football Club has once again found itself in the spotlight following the reported dissolution of its Executive Committee (EXCO). The decision is understood to have been made by the club's main sponsor, Railway Systems of Zambia, as part of a broader plan to chart a new course for the club following a turbulent 2024/25 season.

This latest development adds to a series of high-profile exits at the club, including the departure of two head coaches and the Club Chief Executive Officer earlier in the campaign. Despite showing promise at different points in the season, inconsistent performances and administrative challenges appear to have prompted stakeholders to call for significant changes at the leadership level.

Sources close to the club indicate that the sponsor is keen on restoring stability and positioning Kabwe Warriors for long-term success, both on and off the pitch. An official announcement is expected to be made soon, with further details on the interim leadership structure and the way forward.

Kabwe Warriors currently sit in the top half of the MTN Super League table but have struggled to maintain momentum in recent weeks.

ZAMBIA Army officers were yesterday involved in a tragic road traffic accident that left 22 people injured and one person dead along the Ndola-Kabwe road.

The accident occurred when a Marcopolo bus carrying the army officers collided head-on with a Mitsubishi Rosa bus.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the crash was caused by the driver of the Zambia Army Marcopolo bus, who attempted to overtake improperly at a curve.

Copperbelt Province Commanding Officer Pathias Siandenge confirmed that the incident happened around 01:30 hours yesterday at Mishikishi area along the Kabwe-Ndola road.

He said the collision involved a Marcopolo bus with registration number AF1298, belonging to the Zambia Army’s Mikango Barracks.

The bus, driven by Luhanga Chabala, sustained extensive front-end damage and had seven passengers on board.

"On board were the following occupants, William Chibwika, 28, who sustained a cut on the eyelid; Simulonda Fortune, 28, who had a cut on the left eyelid, a shaking tooth, and a painful left leg; and Mulenga Chanda, 28, who had a cut on the nose and a painful head," he said.

β€œOthers were Perkin Michelo, 27, who sustained a cut on the right eyelid; Mweene Master, 30, who was bleeding from the mouth and had pain in both legs and a headache; Jackson Mayaka, 36, who sustained a headache and backache; and Pwanda Audrey, 27, who suffered pain in the right leg and neck.”

Mr Siandenge added that the other vehicle involved was a Mitsubishi Rosa bus, registration number ALF 3347ZM, which also sustained extensive damage. It was driven by Collins Siankombo, who suffered suspected fractures in both legs and later died in hospital.

He said the Rosa bus had 15 passengers on board, all of whom sustained various injuries ranging from cuts, fractures, bruises, and general body pains.
