ANGOLAN AIRLINE RESUMES FLIGHTS BETWEEN LUANDA AND LUSAKA
ANGOLAN Air Carrier, the Linhas Aereas De Angola (TAAG) has resumed direct flights between Luanda and Zambia’s capital Lusaka.
The flights between the two neighbouring countries were suspended at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 that disrupted the movement of people around the globe.
President Hakainde Hichilema, who was this week in Angola for a state visit at the invitation of his counterpart Joao Lourenco, says the resumption of the direct flights will enhance connection between the two countries and boost trade and investment among African countries.
He says, “We shall further open up road and rail networks for transportation of people and products as we make our country truly land linked. We are determined to continue opening the country up, to encourage investment and access to export markets for our people. Our priority remains economic transformation and quality jobs for all.”
On Thursday evening, the Angolan Airlines carrying a Zambian delegation in President Hichilema’s trip to Angola touched down at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) in Lusaka to mark this milestone achievement and the bilateral talks between the two governments.
