💔 A Plea for Lubinda Restoring a Dream.

We are making an urgent call and heartfelt quest to help Lubinda Muyano, a resilient 22-year-old who is facing a devastating hurdle on his path to a brighter future.
Lubinda is a dedicated fourth-year student of Procurement and Supply Chain Management at Nkrumah University. For years, he has quietly battled a severe joint disorder that began in his junior secondary school days at Kalabo Boarding Secondary School, leaving his right leg disabled and critically impacting his ability to move.
Despite this profound physical challenge, Lubinda remained unwavering and resolute. His persistence saw him secure a government bursary to pursue his University education in 2022 at Kwame Nkrumah University.

Lubinda comes from a humble background in Kalabo Western province,a bright mind, orphaned at a tender age. However, now in his final year of University, his condition has tragically and rapidly deteriorated. The pain and severely limited mobility are now threatening to derail his studies and his lifelong ambition of earning a degree.
Lubinda has consulted with qualified surgeons, and there is hope for restoration. He urgently requires an operation, but the financial burden is insurmountable for his family.
We are seeking to raise a critical amount of K7000 to cover the entire medical procedure and recovery. The breakdown of this essential fund is as follows:
Actual Operation Cost and Specialized Medical Cement: K5000
Miscellaneous Post-Op Costs: (Bandages, hospital toiletries, essential sustenance) K2,000
*Total Needed: K7000

This isn't just about a medical bill; it's about giving Lubinda back his mobility, his independence, and his future. Your compassion and help, in any amount, will ensure he can return to Nkrumah University to complete his fourth year and finally achieve the degree he has worked so hard, and against such odds, to obtain.
Every contribution brings him one step closer to walking freely again and securing his

SPECIAL COUNSEL WRITES.✍️

‎Earlier today, I took time to compare the Current Guild Constitution with the 2024/25 Draft Constitution, specifically on the issue of Auditing, and what I found is deeply concerning.

‎Under the Current Guild Constitution, students are empowered to actively participate in Guild affairs. It clearly states that the Guild accounts shall be audited by the University Auditor and five (5) students with auditing knowledge. However, the Draft Constitution proposes that the Union’s accounts be audited by External Auditors hired by the Union.

‎Fellow students, why should the Guild resort to hiring costly External Auditors when our institution has well-trained accounting students capable of doing the work? When we speak of constitutional amendments being done without student consultations, this is exactly why we PETITIONED.

‎Going forward, the Guild will be audited strictly according to the Current Constitution, to all Accounting students, when the time comes and I know its coming, do not fail the student body. Do what you are being trained to do. Let every coin be counted, and If all goes well, the immediate former Guild will be the first.

‎To the current Guild leaders, all I can say is, continue enjoying and always know that we love you all, but don't forget that the time for accountability is coming.

The fact that 95% of students are advocating for an audit of the current guild raises a significant concern that warrants further examination. This widespread demand suggests potential issues that need to be addressed in a transparent and thorough manner.

A LECTURER at Mukuba University in Kitwe has been detained in custody for allegedly being in possession of a forged practising certificate.

Copperbelt Province police commanding officer Mwala Yuyi said Emmanuel Kalumbu admitted forging his qualification because he was desperate for a job.

Mr Yuyi said Levy Musonda, of Ndola, an inspections and compliance officer at Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ), reported on behalf of the institution.

“During the routine compliance assessment at the university, the officer discovered one of the lecturers who had applied to be employed at the institution had a forged practising certificate bearing the names Emmanuel Kalumbu,” he said.

He said police detained the lecturer for forging his qualifications.

“Police are investigating a case of forgery and uttering which happened this month at Mukuba University. The suspect was contacted and later questioned about the practising licence,” Mr Yuyi said.
