Tsala Muana Wanted Us to Get Married, But I Couldn’t Marry Her Because She Was a Musician — Vernon Mwanga

Imagine being deeply in love with someone, making memories together, and even seeing a future with them but you never get the chance to walk down the aisle because life puts obstacles in your way. Hectic, right?

For those who have followed Dr Vernon Mwanga’s journey over the years, the story of his relationship with the late Congolese music icon Tsala Muana is one that many people still remember.

The two were once one of the most talked-about couples. Their relationship went beyond borders, with Tsala Muana often travelling to Zambia to spend time with the man she loved.

At the time, both were stars in their own worlds. Vernon Mwanga was building his name in politics, while Tsala Muana was already a celebrated musician with fans across Africa.

For those who may not know Tsala Muana, she was one of the biggest music stars to come out of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Known as the Queen of Mutuashi, she was famous for her catchy performances, traditional dance style and a stage presence that could keep audiences entertained for hours.

Anyone who has watched a Congolese music performance knows the energy is unmatched. The music, the dancing and the atmosphere are enough to make you forget about going home.

Tsala Muana was a woman many admired. She had fame, beauty and many people who looked up to her, but according to the story shared over the years, her heart was with Dr Mwanga. Many believed their relationship was heading towards marriage.

But behind the beautiful moments and public appearances, there was one question that remained unanswered, would the two eventually become husband and wife?

Years later, Dr Vernon Mwanga finally opened up about why that never happened.

Speaking on the Kenny T 1 on 1 Podcast, he revealed that although Tsala Muana wanted them to get married, he could not make that commitment because she was a musician while he was a politician. According to Dr Mwanga, their different career paths and the demands that came with them played a role in the decision.

There is a lot more to learn from Dr Vernon Mwanga’s conversation on the Kenny T 1 on 1 Podcast, from love and relationships to the sacrifices people make behind closed doors.

I Sent My Friend to Ask a Girl to Be My Girlfriend, He Ended Up Dating Her- Dr Mwanga

By Muzamba Siandizya

Let’s be honest, some guys are brave in many things but approaching a lady they like? That one can be a serious problem. You see a beautiful lady, you like her, you want her number but suddenly your confidence disappears.

But then they’re also some guys who need professional assistance. They simply cannot approach a lady and ask her out without sending a friend. That was the case with Dr Vernon Mwanga.

Growing up, Dr Mwanga was extremely shy when it came to ladies. No matter how much he liked a girl, approaching her was not his thing. But he had a friend who was the complete opposite. This guy could talk to ladies like it was his full-time job.

He knew the right words, the right approach and exactly how to make ladies interested. So Dr Mwanga thought: “Why struggle when I have a friend who can do this for me?”

He sent his friend to approach a lady he liked and ask her to be his girlfriend. The friend went and Dr Mwanga waited, as usual he gave feedback and said she was thinking about it. One week passed another week. No message from the friend and no response from the lady.

Then one day, Dr Mwanga bumped into the lady and decided to ask her directly why she hasn’t responded to his request. She told him that his friend had asked her to be his girlfriend instead.

What would you do if you were in his situation?
I’ll leave the story right there.
