Imisepela App Fails to Deliver in Kapiri Mposhi

The Imisepela platform, launched by government to connect youths to jobs, internships, apprenticeships, and funding, is facing criticism in Kapiri Mposhi where young people say it has not benefited them. While national figures boast over 280,000 registrations and K20 million disbursed to youth entrepreneurs, local youths argue they have never seen anyone in Kapiri gain employment or funding through the app. Some claim they had never even heard of Imisepela, while others who know about it insist it has produced no results in their community. This disconnect between official announcements and local realities raises concerns about whether the program is truly reaching rural youths or remains concentrated in urban centers

Ministry of Home Affairs Permanent Secretary Dickson Matembo has announced that the Patriots for Economic Progress Party (PeP) remains registered as a political party.

‎Speaking on the party’s status, Matembo notes that the Registrar of Societies cannot change an organisation’s registration without the owner’s authority adding that no application to alter PeP’s status had been processed at the time, meaning the party is still recognized under the law as a political entity.

‎The statement follows an announcement by PeP President Sean Tembo that his party has been redesignated as a church, with its main activities now listed as ministry and preaching.

KAPIRI RESIDENTS DEMAND ROAD REPAIRS FROM ASPIRING POLITICIANS

Frustrated residents of Kapiri Mposhi are demanding that political candidates aspiring for office prioritize fixing the district's dilapidated road network. In a series of interviews, community members voiced deep anger over empty political promises, stating that previous leaders have used lies to gain power only to completely abandon the electorate once elected. Locals stressed that the broken road network has been a severe, long-term challenge that stifles development, damages vehicles, and isolates neighborhoods.
