The GOVERNMENTis committed to supporting grassroots football, as evident in the recent inter-schools games held in Kafue district from March 20-22.
The event showcased exceptional talents, particularly among the under-13 and under-17 age groups, with the best players set to be taken up by the district matches,
The final match of the under-17 boys' category was thrilling, with Chikupi Secondary School emerging as champions after defeating Kabweza Secondary School 3-1. Nchimunya Choonya scored the opening goal in the 15th minute, followed by Joe Ng'andu's goal in the 26th minute, giving Chikupi a 2-0 lead at halftime. Kabweza Secondary School scored a beautiful goal from out of the box, but Chikupi's Bush sealed the win with a third goal from the spot.
Chikupi Secondary School's captain, Yotam Mwansa, expressed gratitude for the teamwork displayed throughout the tournament.
The school coaches, Mr. Mshanga and Mr. Musaka, praised the team's promising performance, noting that most players are in grade 10 and 9, with potential for future success, citing players like Clen Ng'andu, who was appointed assistant captain. And was the star of the tournament recognized by the managements.
Joe Ng'andu, Nchimunga Choonya , Lucky Muleya Soto mention they are yet to be considered for national duty it's not a talent to be seen only here in Kafue
