Our Health Facility in collaboration with Kasama Municipal Council and the Department of Immigration helped 55 children register for birth certificates. Last week, our youth and women-led team worked side by side with the Kasama Municipal Council and the Zambia Department of Immigration to help 55 children start their journey with something every child deserves: a birth certificate.

These moments remind us why community-led action matters. When young people and women lead, we create inclusive systems that make sure no child is left behind. πŸŒ±πŸ’›

Grace Mabo speaks out and says:

Violence against women and girls is a global pandemic.
Let's rise, let's speak, let's act.
It's time to break the silence, break the cycle, and break the chains of abuse.
Respect, protect, and empower every woman and girl.

As we continue our 16 Days Activism against Gender Based Violence, we are reminded that no one wins alone, together, we can create a safer and more just world for all.

With this year's theme "Unite To End Digital Violence against Women and Girls," we've continued working with other stakeholders to identify gaps
in our work and a more strategic way to serve remote communities with limited resources, as we are committed to quality over quantity, ensuring our services make a lasting impact.

We call on you to join us in this fight! Stand against Gender Based Violence by reporting abuse to promote sanity in our communities. Let's use our digital platforms responsibly and create a culture of respect, empathy, and support. Together, we can
and make a difference in the lives of women and girls! Report abuse, support survivors, and let's unite for a GBV-free Zambia! πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡² Β

We are thrilled to share the impact of our GLOWBFC life skills clubs in rural schools of Kasama and Mungwi District since 2020! This year, nearly 2,500 youth completed 70% of our curriculum, empowering themselves with valuable skills while transforming their lives and future. Our clubs provide more than just a certificate; they equip students with powerful tools to help them to thrive and become better leaders who will make a positive impact in their communities.

We're grateful to Amplify Change and the Ministry of Education for continued partnership, as well as our dedicated team of Coaches and all of you for making this possible.

Meet some of our talented club members from one of our partner schools! We wish them good luck and hope that the skills they've acquired will shape their lives and inspire others to become better.

GLOWBFC has been a place to laugh, learn and ask questions freely!!

In many rural communities around Zambia, the opportunity to graduate from high school can be a life changing milestone, and we're humbled to be a part of this journey for many youths. A few of our grantees shared a heartfelt stories of how our support has turned their dreams into reality, and we're reminded that even the smallest gestures can have a profound impact. Through our work, we've witnessed firsthand the resilience and determination of families who, despite facing immense challenges strive to provide for their children. One of them emotionally shared how the basic necessities provided by our organization are not only a lifeline for herself but also a means to support her family. This serves as a powerful reminder that our individual actions, no matter how small they may seem, have the potential to transform lives and create ripples of positive change. Let us be encouraged to continue being agents of hope and empowerment, inspiring a brighter future for all. May we always be reminded that service is love in action!!

We are thrilled to share a milestone achievement in our education support program! This year, over 65 students have successfully graduated from grade 12 through our scholarship initiative. This remarkable accomplishment marks a significant step forward in empowering our youth and fostering a brighter future for our community. We are particularly proud of these young individuals for overcoming incredible challenges like teenage pregnancy and substance abuse, to reach this milestone. Their resilience and determination serve as a testament to the power of education and support. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our support team for being so instrumental in shaping the lives of young people in our community. This is our largest group of boys and girls our program has ever produced and it's been such an honor to serve these great minds. Together, we look forward to continuing our work towards creating positive change and opportunities for the youth in Zambia. "

Women honoring the past, embracing the present, and leading the future

At Bakashana, we serve to provide the young women of Kasama with a life of their choice. We do this through scholarship, peer support networks, life skills trainings, elder support networks, and entrepreneurship and livelihood trainings. www.bakashana.org
