While writing my new book, I stumbled on a very interesting framework, which is evident among many great people. I call it the "HHR" Framework, built on three foundational "stones":

๐’๐ญ๐จ๐ง๐ž # ๐Ÿ- ๐‡๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ - ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐‚๐ก๐ข๐ž๐Ÿ ๐‚๐จ๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ง๐ž
Often mistaken for weakness, humility is the foundation for life-long learning. It is the unwavering ability to acknowledge your limitations with radical awareness, not with self-pity, but with a fierce determination to leverage the strengths of others. It's the wisdom to recognise yourself as a unique note in the grand symphony, beautiful on your own, but infinitely powerful when played in harmony with others. Humility does not only empower you to serve but also to receive.

This is the unceasing desire for growth, a relentless pursuit of excellence. It's the fire within you that propels you towards your full potential. It's the curiosity that ignites a passion for continuous learning, the ingenuity that allows you to overcome challenges, and the bravery to take calculated risks. "You gotta be hungry," Les Brown screams. Hunger empowers you to get what you desire by transforming your wishes into a driving obsession.

This is the power of ownership, the unwavering commitment to taking charge of your life. It's the understanding that you are the architect of your destiny, empowered to shape your journey through your choices and actions. Someone taught me these two rules: Rule No 1: When placed in charge, take charge; and Rule No. 2: When in doubt, refer to Rule No. 1. Therefore, by all means, accept 100% responsibility. Take charge! Responsibility empowers you to giveโ€”you become a contributor.

From the Brink to Brilliance: 3 Life Lessons from Ivory Coast's AFCON Glory

Congratulations to Ivory Coast on their amazing AFCON victory which offers us several life lessons.

Remember when rock bottom felt like the ceiling? Remember staring defeat in the face, questioning every step you took? Ivory Coast, the unlikely champions of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, know that feeling all too well. They stared elimination in the face, fired their coach, and even had to beg another team to win them a lifeline. Yet, against all odds, they rose from the ashes like a phoenix, their victory story echoing with powerful life lessons for us all.

Lesson 1: Rock Bottom Isn't the End, It's the Launchpad.

When life throws you a curveball, don't mistake it for a full stop. Ivory Coast didn't wallow in their early slump. They used it as fuel, a rallying cry to rewrite their narrative. Remember, challenges are stepping stones, not roadblocks. Use them to energize and propel yourself to new heights.

Lesson 2: Belief is the Currency of Champions.

Ivory Coast had faith in their potential, even when the world wrote them off. They embraced a "never say die" spirit, proving that belief is the most potent weapon in your arsenal. So, believe in yourself, and draw strength from your experiences. Your confidence is your superpower.

Lesson 3: Unity is the Wind Beneath Your Wings.

Imagine climbing Mount Everest alone. Now, imagine the whole nation supporting you, pushing you, celebrating your triumphs. Ivory Coast's win wasn't just about individual talent; it was about collective spirit. They rallied their nation, embraced a novice coach, and played for each other. We are stronger together. Seek support, build your tribe, and watch your dreams soar.

The Ivory Coast's victory wasn't just about football; it was a testament to the human spirit. It was a story of second chances, unwavering belief, and the power of unity. So, the next time you face adversity, remember the Elephants. Remember that rock bottom isn't the end, belief is your magic weapon, and together, we can achieve the impossible. Go forth, and write your own champion's story!

David secured a platform to fight Goliath based on his previous triumphs over the lion and the bear. Victims are used by their past and use it to justify the present results but creators use their past as a resource to secure a glorious future. What is it in your past that you could say, โ€œIf God could help me do this, then I can do that? With this mentality, you could turn your pain into your biggest breakthrough.

โ€œWhat could your life look like by the end of 31 December 2024 if you could drop some of the fears you have today?โ€ Someone just asked.

Success is not a mineral; it is not mined out of the earth but out of the unlimited wealth of ideas, concepts and insights. Therefore, donโ€™t bring a shortage mindset to it. What you can do is all you can do: no limits!

You are as old as your mind. As you develop your mind, you refresh your entire body. โ€œYour age is not what determines old age,โ€ Bishop Oyedepo argues, โ€œIf you keep your mind young by putting it to use, it will โ€˜youngenโ€™ your body.โ€

We are all born originals but many die as copies because we spend more time in environments that work so hard to destroy our sense of self. Do all you can to GET BACK YOURSELF. โ€œBe you and do you,โ€ Bishop T D Jakes says.

CULTIVATING THE 12 SENSES OF DIFFERENCE MAKERS.

PART 3 - EMBRACE A STRONG SENSE OF MISSION

A healthy sense of self will give you a sense of worth and value. You will appreciate your specialness, uniqueness, and extraordinariness. A healthy sense of self comes from a Vision (using your eyes of understanding to see yourself the way God sees you). This is very critical because it will โ€œfinanceโ€ the other senses. A person with a poor sense of self will always seek to subtract from others.

A sense of purpose relates to being conscious of the reason for your existence and being, wherever you may be now. This is true for people and organizations. โ€œIt is like a guiding star always worked towards, but never achieved,โ€ Jim Collins wrote. โ€œIt is a motivating factor, not a differentiating factor.โ€ A sense of purpose aligns your thoughts, choices, and decisions with divine purpose.

Now, while purpose is a motivating factor triggering a burning desire, passion, and a burden within you, a SENSE OF MISSION is a differentiating factor which gives you a clear and compelling overall goal that serves as a focal point for your efforts. A sense of mission empowers you to turn senses of self and purpose into energizing, highly focused goals like the four friends in the picture below who had a mission to bring their paralyzed friend before Jesus. These men were focused visionaries fueled with a strong sense of mission. When they couldnโ€™t find a way through the door, they lowered their friend in the room through the roof. Mission pushes the door of possibility open. โ€œIf you have no mission, you will live in on mission,โ€ one of my favourite pastors said.

Another example of a strong sense of mission is in the 1961 announcement by President Kennedy for NASA to land a man on the moon. While a sense of purpose is likened to a guiding star within you that is always pushing you forward but never attainable (Philippians 3:13-14), a sense of mission is the specific goal or mountain you are tackling per time. It leads you to the โ€œit is doneโ€ of vision (John 19:30). Nehemiah had a call to his people but rebuilding the wall was a mission which he pursued with a strong sense of mission and dogged resilience until he completed it.

Therefore, with a clear VISION, you will have three critical senses activated in you: a healthy sense of self; a sense of purpose, and a strong sense of mission. Abrahamโ€™s snd Jesusโ€™ stories give us a good examples.

Seek to Understand, Then to Be Understood: Embracing Empathy and Wisdom for Lasting Connection

In a nighttime conversation, God asked Solomon what he desired. Instead of requesting wealth, fame, or power to dominate, Solomon sought something rareโ€”a 'understanding heart.'

Wisdom and understanding were King Solomon's obsessions. In another biblical passage, he wrote, "...therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."

Solomon grasped that understanding his people came at a minimal cost compared to battling them. While many aim to be understood, Solomon prioritized understanding others. He sought to think from 'within' and 'under' his people, showcasing humility at another level.

To fulfill Solomon's pursuit, God not only granted him wisdom and understanding but also bestowed a largeness of heartโ€”an often overlooked quality among leaders. Solomon embodied Wisdom + Understanding + Largeness of Heart, virtues that kept him away from conflict, allowing him to enjoy peace.

If you take away anything from this, remember: "The cost of understanding your partner or mate is minimal compared to fighting. God has gifted us the Spirit of understanding to comprehend our co-creators, His creatures, and His creation.

Therefore, make it your goal to first seek to understand, and then to be understood. As you embrace this principle, 'seek first to understand thyself, and it will be easier to understand others.' Don't forget to ask God for a large heart. While David was known as a man after Godโ€™s heart, strive to be known as one with Godโ€™s heart.

Shalom!

Happy weekend!
