Disclaimer: On Behalf of the Affected 2022 Youth Empowerment Beneficiaries
As a platform that amplifies the voices of young people, we are publishing this appeal on behalf of the youths who were offered empowerment under the 2022 Youth Empowerment Programme but upto date, not received the support despite being issued offer letters.
The affected youths have reached out to our page, expressing their growing concern over the prolonged delay. Many had hoped this empowerment would enable them to start businesses, create jobs, and improve their livelihoods. Instead, they have waited patiently for years without clear communication on the way forward.
Through this platform, they are respectfully seeking an audience with His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zambia Hakainde Hichilema , Hon. Minister of Youth, Sport and Arts, Mr. Elvis. Nkandu, Mr Jito Kayumba, and the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kangwa Chileshe to receive an update on the status of the programme and to understand when the promised empowerment will finally be delivered.
This appeal is made in good faith and is not intended to criticize or discredit anyone. Rather, it is a sincere call for engagement, transparency, and a resolution to a matter that has remained outstanding since 2022.
The affected youths continue to believe in the Government's commitment to youth empowerment and remain hopeful that their concerns will be heard and addressed.
We stand with these young people in respectfully calling for dialogue, clarity, and the fulfillment of the commitments made to them.
