GOD'S DISCIPLINE
Hebrews 12:5-11 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, [6] because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” [7] Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? [8] If you are not disciplined and everyone undergoes discipline, then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. [9] Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us, and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live? [10] They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best, but God disciplines us for our good in order that we may share in his holiness. [11] No discipline seems pleasant at the time but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
The problem with most of us is that when facing God's discipline, we want to be understood; we don't want to be transformed.
The purpose of God's discipline is love, and the ones who receive God's discipline are His children. If you're not a son of God, He will not discipline you. You can never find a passage in the Bible that says God disciplines an unbeliever. God does not waste His time and energy disciplining all the people on earth.
It is the same with us. You can not discipline your neighbours' children. If the neighbours' children do not dress well or can not do things properly, you can not discipline them. Only when it is a case of our own children do we discipline them.
In the realm of discipline, discipline is confined and reserved for Christians, and the motive of discipline is love. It is not because God hates you that He disciplines you. He disciplines you because He loves you also says that God disciplines because of love
The purpose of discipline. It is not because God likes to see or wants us to suffer. He disciplines us so that we can partake in His holiness. If you as a Christian you live in a very loose way on earth, without manifesting God's nature and holiness, God's hand will fall heavily on you
God does not like to chastise man. His purpose is to have His holiness manifested in man. He will only stop disciplining you when His holiness is manifested in you
