ATTENTION!!!
FROM : THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT.
TO: THE STUDENT POPULACE
DATE: 16.12.2019
SUBJECT: NEW PROGRESSION RULES (The Death of Exclude).
Reference is made to the aforementioned subject.
Good evening Patriotic and Civilized Citizens of The Mighty Copperbelt University. We pray and hope every student is in safe hands.
This serves to inform the general Student populace on the following New Progression rules;
1. No more Exclude.
2. No More Special Part-time.
3.Supplementary Exams
4. School Of Medicine Progression Rules.
1.NO MORE EXCLUDE.
Students will no longer be victims of exclude as they will be given another chance to redeem themselves.
Unlike the old system where if a student fails more than 3 courses, automatically they either go on exclude or repeat a year, the rule has now changed to a student going on part time instead of Exclude and only repeat the failed courses regardless of whether one of the courses is a repeat course or not. If and only if the said student fails all the courses then they will be requested to repeat the entire academic year on full time.
2. SPECIAL PART-TIME
When a student fails a repeat course or courses, instead of going on Exclude or Special Part-time, Students will now be allowed to proceed to the next academic year but repeat the carried course no matter how many times one fails it. In short students will not go on special Part-time or Exclude no matter how many times one fails a course.
3. SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMS
Students are no longer limited to the number of Supplementary Exams one can write provided they got a D+ in that or those courses one failed. Unlike the old system where a student can only be allowed to write a maximum of 2 Supplementary Exams, if a student fails 3,4,5,6 or more courses but gets D pluses in them, he or she will be given a chance to write Sups in all the failed courses or desired courses provided they got D pluses.
3.NO MORE SPECIAL PART-TIME
There will be no more Special Part-time or exlude when a student fails a repeated course regardless of the number of times one fails it.
Instead a student will be allowed to progress to the next academic year but repeat the failed repeated course.
Please note that the rule on Prerequisite courses will still be applied.
4.SCHOOL OF MEDICINE PROGRESSION RULES.
Starting this Academic year, unlike the old system, Students at The School of Medicine will no longer repeat all courses but only the failed course. Next Academic year students repeating courses will only be attending classes for the repeated course or courses and will only pay for the repeated course/s.
How ever students are required not to abuse these new Progression Rules but take advantage of such an opportunity for it is in the best interest of every Student.
Affected Students (especially those that have been taken on exclude with respect to the previous exams) should consider coming back as soon as possible for another chance has been granted to them.
NOTE THAT.
TOMORROW AT EXACTLY 15:00hrs , all students are requested to come to the MPF to be addressed on these new Progression Rules. And in our Midst we will be blessed to have the Presence The Deputy Vice Chancellor Dr Kawunga Nyirenda who will address us on these new Progression Rules.
Please you're all required to attend as it is very important for us.
Affected Students will soon get notifications on their Portals but are still advised to come back and continue with studies.
Students whose results went missing but have been found will also be given an opportunity to seat for Supplementary Exams provided they acquired the requirements for Supplementary Exams.
Together We Can And We Will.
Only Our Feet Shall Take Us There.
Stay Blessed and Enjoy the rest of the evening.
