FIRST Republican President Dr Kenneth Kaunda will be put to rest at the presidential burial site on Wednesday, 7th July, next month, Her Honour the Vice President Inonge Mutukwa Wina has announced.
Madam Wina said during a media briefing in Lusaka today that this will be a private ceremony for family and selected invited mourners.
She said the funeral will be broadcast live on television, radio and social media to enable Zambians and the international community to follow the proceedings.
The Veep has reiterated President Edgar Lungu's call for the country to mourn the founding father with the dignity, respect, and calm that is deserving of him.
“His Excellency the President would also wish to emphasise that this is a national programme, honouring Dr. Kaunda who lived his life unifying the nation regardless of race, tribe, creed or political affiliation under the One Zambia, One Nation Motto,” She said.
And Mrs Wina has said that no party regalia or party symbols including party branded face masks would be allowed at any activity mourning Dr. Kaunda.
“We are mourning Dr. Kaunda as Zambians and so let us do so, while observing the strict COVID-19 Guidelines that the Ministry of Health continues to remind us of,” Mrs Wina said.

CHISHIMBA KAMBWILI ON ZNBC Today - 9th June 2021
=======================================================
EMPHATIC Patriotic Front Founder Dr Chishimba Kambwili today held the nation broadcaster stage with a clear, simple economic explanation as to why commodity prices have jumped and trumped opposition propaganda suggesting that Zambia is experiencing very high commodity prices yet this is a global phenomenon as has been observed by the United Nations.
Featuring on the first episode of the re-launch of the PF interactive forum with host Nakiwe Simpungwe, Dr Chishimba Kambwili scoffed at Hakainde Hichilema machinations that once he is elected at 10:00hrs the dollar will come down against the Kwacha.
“Someone was being rhetoric that when I am elected at 10 o’clock, 14:00hrs the dollar will come down ni magic abracadabra, please see them for who they are, LIARS!!” he exclaimed.
“The United Nations has declared that food world over, isonde lyonse, nafinina (the world over prices have gone up) by two or three times more because of draught, and Covid 19…Global food has extended to the highest in almost in a decade, this is not me, not Lungu but the UN who is stating.”
Citing an example of South Africa who host a much larger economy than Zambia, Dr Kambwili said;
“Mealie Meal today in South Africa is at R230 – K380 for 25kg bag of mealie meal and in this country [Zambia] a 25kg is costing at K140, a kg of meat is R73- K120 in South Africa… and in Zambia meat is ranging between K70 to K90 kg, lets come to cooking oil 2.5ltrs in South Africa is costing R79 – K130.”
He noted that even the pump prices in South Africa are much higher as compared to Zambia.
“When we come to petrol I have heard people hallucinate that petrol is expensive in Zambia and cheaper in South Africa, where are you getting the statistics from? Petrol in South Africa is R16.91 per litre which translates to K28 per litre, how much are we paying in Zambia, K17,” he queried.
"Ba puti, ba mundye mundye mwe bena Zambia, bela mi bepa."
Dr Kambwili observed that it was a pure fallacy and selfish act to state that the Patriotic Front Government had failed.
“You go to the poor people in the compound and you want to mislead them to remove a legitimately elected government, a government that has done so much in ten years, a government that has brought dignity in terms of roads, hospitals, and schools and saying they are a failed government because of the price of commodities. And prices are better in other countries,” he said.
NEXT article will highlight how Dr Chishimba Kambwili explains PF government trajectory of how they are on the road to recover a positive economy.

INNOCENT KALIMANSHI BEATEN AND CAR DAMAGED "Ama AMELICAN"
=========================================
ROSES, balloons and fireworks set up to celebrate Kambwili's solo trip to PF secretariat were marred with splatters of Kalimanshi's melanin deficient blood and mucus after his rival party cadres handed him the mother of all civilian beatings.
In a scene set to mimick the Biblical grand entry into Jerusalem with flowers and confetti thrown around for his donkey to trample upon, the PF secretariat was painted all green with Chitenge and flags yielding without struggle to the gentle morning breeze as the ruling party set to receive their outspoken prodigal son.
https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=4157871794332884&id=203462316440538
However, just when Kambwili who was perched on the in the front of his white Toyota Land cruiser was driving to the sound PF choir and loud youth chants, commotion ensued when the cadres realised that Kambwili's entourage included Innocent Kalimanshi of Chawama 'barracks'.
The cadres tried to w**d out Kalimanshi from the entourage by blocking his vehicle from entering the Secretariat but Kalimanshi stepped hard on his gas peddle scaring away those blocking him until his tyres came to a successful screeching halt inside the premises.
With a new sense of safety and confidence, Kalimanshi tried to chant slogans to the cadres but his chants seemed to only be dog whistles summoning the irate cadres who like a swam of bees robbed of honey descended on him.
What was to follow, the history of Zambian political beatings has no parallel to compare to.
Without his Embenezer-singing ensemble to protect him, Kalimanshi was plucked off the drivers' seat of the vehicle for a free-for-all beating.
Helpless to the mob, Kalimanshi was juggled amongst the cadres as each group after treating him to slaps, kicks, fists and knuckles threw him to the next group so that they could also relish their anger on his light skinned body.
Cadres that were not close enough to punch or kick Kalimanshi threw missiles in his direction some of which landed on waiting journalists and triggering a run-for-life scamper.
As they mob competed to knock out Kalimanshi's teeth, others thought iron bars would do the job well and whipped him flat like a pancake; a bloody pancake.
It had to take, Kennedy Kamba, the PF Lusaka Province Chairman to fly down the stairs of the double storey secretariat building to save Kalimanshi.
Seeing that his screaming orders to the cadres to cease the violence were not working, Kamba threw himself in the melee and personally dragged Kalimanshi to the safety his offices.
The cadres then turned their anger to Kalimanshi's vehicle, smashing its windows and slashing its tyres.
Two journalists Nancy Malwele and Francis Maingaila were injured in the fracas.
The ceremony to welcome Kambwili was suspended for close to an hour until the arrival of police officers.
By the time order was restored, Kalimanshi had been rendered a "stretcher case" and his new Ford Ranger damaged beyond recognition.
With Kambwili safe in the embrace of the ruling party, Kalimanshi was evacuated to the UTH ICU to try his luck at clutching to whatever life remained in him.
