African Union suspends Madagascar from its body after military take over.

However, in reaction to this the new President of Madagascar Colonel Michael Randrianirina:

“We do not wish to remain part of an organization that prioritizes membership over genuine care. We reject a system controlled by France, which allows the people of Madagascar to suffer while our wealth enriches French oligarchs. Madagascar is forging a new path to freedom, and we need fresh air to ensure our survival!”

ex-U.S. President Barack Obama has mourned Raila Odinga as a “child of independence” who endured decades of struggle and sacrifice for the broader cause of freedom and self-governance in Kenya.

Obama mourns Raila Odinga...

'Raila Odinga was a true champion of democracy. A child of independence, he endured decades of struggle and sacrifice for the broader cause of freedom and self-governance in Kenya. Time and again, I personally saw him put the interests of his country ahead of his own ambitions. Like few other leaders anywhere, he was willing to choose the path of peaceful reconciliation without compromising his core values. Through his life, Raila Odinga set an example not just for Kenyans, but across Africa and around the world. I know he will be missed. Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to his family and to the people of Kenya.'

It is fitting for Odinga to lie in state at Parliament, allowing the government and nation to honor his life and legacy as a patriot and statesman, Ruto said.

At Least Two Dead as Police Fire on Crowds Mourning Kenya's Raila Odinga, Media Reports

Security forces opened fire to disperse crowds gathered to view the body of opposition leader Raila Odinga, local media reported. Thousands had assembled at Kasarani Stadium, where chaos broke out after some mourners attempted to breach security barriers.

Odinga, 80, a former prime minister and prominent opposition leader, died in India on Wednesday, prompting nationwide grief. President William Ruto declared seven days of national mourning, and Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen announced that Friday, October 17, will be a public holiday in his honor.

A state funeral is scheduled in Nairobi on Friday, followed by burial in his hometown of Bondo on Sunday.
