HAPPY WORLD DISABILITY DAY
By definition, "Disability " is the state of incapability,weakness, unable to do something.
Based on this definition, it is safe for me to say that everyone is disabled in one way or the other.
Hence, on this day we learn more about how we must help each other. What I can do, you can't. What I can't do, you can. So we all depend on each other.
However, as we help each other, today we focus mostly on disabled people with special needs. Mark the term "special needs"
By that we mean ,I.e. , a deaf "needs" an interpreter. A blind "needs" a guide. etc.
These people have got special needs which are more than us (who are also disabled) and most of the time, we neglect them so much that they feel so vulnerable and alone. So, it is high time we changed our way of thinking and begin to embrace these fellow disabled people with special needs, starting from institutions like the church, schools, and many more.
Lastly, I quote, they say, "Don't judge a Disability by it's visibility " and to the disabled with special needs, I say , " Disability is not sin.You are created with possibility".
To everyone, remember, WE ARE ONE ZAMBIAN, ONE NATION.
