CHAPTER FOUR ~ Where Our Story Comes to Life!
If there's one place where we agree more than we disagree, it's this room, the kitchen.
To some, Cooking with the Zikos is a page for recipes. To others, it's a place where culture is preserved through food. For many, it's a reminder that family can still gather around a table, share a meal, raise children with intention, and keep their faith in Jesus at the center of the home. Some come for the food brands we genuinely love, others simply because they are fellow food lovers.
To us, Cooking WITH the Zikos is all this and so much more.
This kitchen was our honeymoon when we couldn't afford a vacation after we got married. It's where Mr. Z experimented with every possible recipe to help his wife keep food down while carrying our three daughters 🤰👶🤱. It's where recipes were born, perfected, and sometimes completely failed😂. It's where we made nourishing soups to help us through COVID 😷🤧, discovered each child's favourite meal, laughed after long days of work while preparing family dinner, and welcomed loved ones into our home.
This kitchen also gave birth to dreams.
It became the foundation of Witty foods restaurant ZM from cooking at home, to making deliveries ourselves, to catering events, creating our signature sauces, opening a restaurant, and now celebrating our very first golden food truck.
For us, this has never been just a kitchen. It's been a classroom, a place of healing, a boardroom, a sanctuary, and the birthplace of memories, purpose, and possibility.
The stories are many, and we'll continue telling them.
But for now, we close this chapter and return to where our journey with you first began, with food, family, faith, and every meal that brings us together.
