🚛 Truck Blind Spots & Air Turbulence: A Safety Guide for Motorcyclists & Drivers 🏍️
By
Staying safe around big trucks isn’t just about driving carefully — it’s about knowing where the danger zones are! Let’s break it down: 👇👇
🔴 Truck Blind Spots (No-Zones):
These are areas where truck drivers can’t see you:
✅ Front Blind Spot: Directly in front of the truck.
✅ Side Blind Spots: Especially large on both sides, more so on the right.
✅ Rear Blind Spot: Right behind the truck — don’t follow too closely!
🚨 Safety Tip:
👉 Stay visible! If you can’t see the truck’s mirrors, the driver can’t see you.
🌬️ Air Turbulence Behind Trucks:
When trucks move, they create strong air currents:
✅ Can pull motorcycles or small cars toward the truck or push them away.
✅ Especially risky when overtaking or riding in the truck’s wake zone.
🚨 Safety Tip:
👉 Always keep a safe distance from trucks — don’t linger next to or behind them.
🛑 Final Road Safety Reminders:
✔️ Avoid truck blind spots.
✔️ Maintain a safe following distance.
✔️ Overtake quickly and safely — don’t hang beside a truck.
✔️ Be ready for air turbulence, especially on a motorcycle.
✅ Stay smart, stay safe on the road!

UPCOMING TRUCK DRIVERS

Rules as trucker or Bus host to DRC

DRC is a country of amateurs but don't be afraid of them coz they are also afraid of you too.

First thing first don't show them that you are new especially at the border and enroute to Kolwezi.

Secondly avoid driving alone on your first trip. Join C2C, Sabot, J&J Africa group, Bitwel, SUNHE or any big well known company to be safe.

3rd It's not mandatory to stop at any police road blocks, once you stop they know you are new and they will make sure anonyura chete e.g money and food stuff

5th Don't give out your documents to anyone. 1000 to 2000 F is a good vhara muromo in Congo which is less than a dollar.

6th don't cook or smoke in your truck while at whisky or gomz parking. That meal can be your first and last most expensive meal in your life.

7th avoid night driving in areas as Tengefungurume, Likasi Bungubungu and lubumbashi.

8th avoid drinking tape water, it looks clear but most of their water sources are contaminated with chemicals especially in mine areas

9th make sure you are vaccinated yellow fever vaccine .

Lastly no matter how hungry you are or you feel like your man wood is troubling you don't go for Congo ladies or else you will regret it.

These are major points to watch out for the rest is history. Plenty things have changed in the past 5 years. Food is every where in Congo coz they import most of their food stuffs from SA and Zambia big shops in Tenge, Lubumbashi, Likasi and Kolwezi.
