ARCHBISHOP MPUNDU PUT TO REST

Hundreds of people this morning gathered at the Cathedral of the Child Jesus , Pope Square to pay their last respects to the late Archbishop Telesphore George Mpundu..
Archbishop Mpundu died on 15th May, 2026 at Maina Soko Hospital in Lusaka.
President Hakainde Hichilema and his wife Mutinta were among the notable eminent persons that attended the funeral mass which was presided by Lusaka Archbishop Alick Banda.
The Emeritus Archbishop has since been put to rest within the grounds of the Cathedral of the Child Jesus.
Speaking during the homily Archbishop Banda described the deceased as an advocate of governance and social justice.
