LUNGU SUMMONED ARMY CHIEF OVER PF LAND
WHILE in office, President Edgar Lungu allegedly summoned then Zambia Army Commander Paul Mihova to State House after he reportedly refused to release a certificate of title to a piece of land.
A judge heard that the piece of land in issue is where the then governing Patriotic Front (PF) wanted to build a secretariat.
Boston Nzhibwe, a police chief inspector, narrated that Lieutenant General Mihova was called at State House after the then Commissioner of Lands Wilfred Muma reported that he had refused to release the certificate of title.
“Soon after the rejection, he (Gen Mihova) was called to State House by the President, meaning the Commissioner of Lands reported to the President that the Army commander had refused [to release the certificate of title].”
Muma, who was last July removed as High Court judge, is facing two counts of abuse of authority of office and wilful failure to comply with the law and applicable procedure.
