WHO SHOULD SERVE AS YOUR MENTOR

Not everything can be learnt from books or the internet. Sometimes the only way to reach our full potential is to learn directly from someone who has been there and done that-a Mentor

Mentoring is a brain to pick 🧠an ear to listen 👂 and a push in the right direction.
Note that as you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands 🖐 🤚 One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.

What makes you awesome?
Well, the ability to say “what you are good at” is a step in discovering who can be your mentor.

In every profession, there are heroes, rockstars etc.
Who do you admire? or rather who do you want to be like?
If someone came to your mind then congratulations🔥🙌you’ve just added one mentor to your network ✅

You need to have a network of mentors in different fields of your life. Mainza how do I do that you may ask(well simple)
•know yourself
•Reflect on who to reach out to
•with them courageously

Getting a mentor is a shortcut to success. How? If opens various opportunities
🗝job opportunities
🗝Collaborations
🗝Further learning opportunities
🗝strategies of overcoming challenges
🗝learning from mistakes
🗝creating meaningful relationships etc.

I’ve never had a mentor before, but realizing this just helped me see how easy everything would have been and my hope is that after reading this📖 it may open your mind to discover the value of having a mentor ✍

The Coordination of the microbes is really really fascinating.

Today I took some time to just try to circle my head around the nature of microbes, from different interactions with my fellows, I noticed how consistent microbes are in their nature. The fighting spirit is the most amusing part especially that they deal with species that are a trillion times larger than them.

How many times do we complain when the task looks impossible? How many times do we give up? How many times do we accept defeat?

Have we ever thought of instead to just regroup and try again?
Have we ever thought of changing the battle ground to one that works in our favor?
Do we still question our dominance on earth as Human beings?

Most importantly What is it that pushes us to try again?
Are we even trying again?
Think about it.

Earlier I had the rare Privilege of been picked as a "Chief Judge" at this year's just ended Inter-university Biomedical Sciences Debate Symposium that was held at Levy Mwanawasa University.

The program was graced by the Biomedical Society of Zambia president Mr Mutale Mubanga Music as the Guest of Honor.

This was a Student Outreach program (SOP), 2nd from its introduction in 2022, aimed at uniting and bridging the gap among Biomedical Students across the Country. This Year's Debate Symposium was centered on New "Automations in Biomedical Sciences"

It was really a wonderful experience seeing, listening and learning from my fellow great minded students🙌

DECISION FATIGUE
Everyday, just in our personal lives, we make alot of decisions e.g decisions like "what will I eat, what do I wear, where do I go, what do I do with my day should I go for class etc. All these can eventually create stress. By the time the average person goes to bed, they would have made over 35000 decisions and all these decisions take up energy, time and certainly can deplete us. I call it "decision Fatigue"

I've experienced such several times, and upon discovery below are the possible steps you can take.
1.Paramount is pre-decision
(Make decisions in the morning or ahead of time) research shows that the brain is very receptive in the early hours of the day
2. Try to delegate Decisions-let people decide some things for you, etc
3. Stop second guessing yourself
4.Develop a daily routine
Most importantly
5. Seek help if symptoms worsen.

TDRC awards CBU best graduating student

Meet Naomi Muleba Kalaba, the recipient of the TDRC Award for Academic Excellence at the just ended 31st Copperbelt University Graduation Ceremony. She was awarded for being the Best graduating student from a class of 25 in the Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences programme. TDRC Deputy Director, Dr. Ray Handema, was at hand to present a shield and a cash prize of K3000 to Naomi.

The highly ambitious 25-year-old Naomi, who is currently pursuing a Diploma in Teaching Methodology, wishes to take up a career in Research and Academia and she singles out Virology as her area of interest.
Asked how she felt about receiving the award from TDRC, Naomi says she was ecstatic! “It’s an awesome feeling and great honor to receive an award from TDRC to which I’m extremely grateful “
Naomi says the award has motivated her to work extra hard and aim for distinctions even in her postgraduate studies.

TDRC has a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for collaboration with the CBU School of Medicine. In light of this, the Centre found it suitable to sponsor an award to the Best graduating student from Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences as it was the only programme graduating under the School of Medicine.
