Wrestling icon Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71 after suffering cardiac arrest at his home in Florida, according to TMZ.
Emergency responders arrived at Hogan’s Clearwater residence at 9:51 AM and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Police are expected to share more details in a briefing later today.
Born Terry Bollea, Hogan was a trailblazer in professional wrestling, making “Hulkamania” a global phenomenon in the 1980s. His famous 1984 victory over the Iron Sheik turned wrestling into a household spectacle.
In 1996, he rebranded himself as “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan with the NWO (New World Order), transforming the sport yet again.
Beyond wrestling, Hogan starred in films like Rocky III, Suburban Commando, and the VH1 reality series Hogan Knows Best. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice, first in 2005 and again in 2020 with the NWO.
Despite multiple health setbacks, Hogan stayed active in recent years and was set to launch the Real American Freestyle amateur wrestling league on Fox Nation in August.
His wife Sky recently denied reports about his declining health, saying his heart was strong following surgery.
Hulk Hogan leaves behind an unmatched legacy as one of wrestling’s biggest and most influential stars.
